Whole-Class Opening Activities are how you launch your math class every day. They are designed to get students thinking, talking, and engaging with math concepts before they move into Self-Paced Work Time. In IM and IM360 classrooms, Whole-Class Opening Activities are inquiry-based activities during which students tackle unfamiliar mathematical concepts, consider meaningful problems, engage in rich discourse with their classmates, and listen and respond to each other’s thinking.
