Customer Portal Settings

Configure trip types, gratuity, reservation cutoff, customer signature, automated changes, location restrictions, and vehicle display in your Customer Portal.

The Customer Portal Settings tab lets you control how customers interact with your booking experience — what trip types they see, how gratuity works, when bookings convert to quotes, and more.

To access: Settings → Customer Portal → Settings

Trip Types

Choose which trip types are available to customers when they book. At least one must remain enabled.

  • One Way — point-to-point transfer

  • Round Trip — pickup and return to origin

  • Hourly — time-based service with a set duration

Gratuity

Control whether customers can select a gratuity amount during booking, and how that selection is presented.

Enable gratuity selection for customers — turns the entire gratuity section on or off in the customer portal. When enabled, the following sub-settings become available:

  • Driver gratuity presets — set three percentage options customers can choose from (e.g. 15%, 18%, 20%)

  • Offer cash gratuity option — adds a "Pay in cash" option so customers can tip the driver directly

  • Offer custom gratuity option — lets customers enter their own gratuity amount. You can require a minimum (matching your lowest preset) or allow no minimum

  • Make gratuity selection optional — when on, customers can skip gratuity entirely. When off, they must choose an option before completing the booking

Customer Signature

Require customers to agree to your Terms & Conditions and Cancellation Policy before completing a booking.

Note: You must have at least one Terms & Conditions document added in Moovs before this setting can be turned on.

When enabled, choose one of two modes:

  • Require consent — customer checks a checkbox to acknowledge your terms

  • Require consent and signature — customer checks the checkbox and draws a digital signature

Reservation Cutoff

Set a rolling window during which booking requests are received as Quotes instead of confirmed Reservations. Use the dropdowns to set a value (0–23) and unit (Hours or Days).

The default is 0 Hours, meaning all bookings are confirmed reservations immediately.

Example: If set to 4 Hours and the current time is 10:00 AM, any booking with a pickup between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM will come in as a Quote. The customer's details are captured without payment, and you convert the Quote to a Reservation manually.

Note: The cutoff period also applies to cancellation requests submitted through the customer portal.

Request Changes to Trip

Control how customers can request changes or cancellations through their customer portal.

Automate trip updates requested by customer — when on, any trip change a customer submits will be applied automatically, as long as the request is made before your configured cutoff period. Set the cutoff using the Hours/Days dropdowns below the toggle.

Allow customers to request a cancellation — when on, customers can submit a cancellation request from the customer portal before the reservation cutoff. Cancellations are not automatic — operators must still confirm and process them manually.

Booking Location Restriction

When enabled, customers can only enter pickup and dropoff addresses within your operating country. Addresses outside that country will not appear in the autocomplete.

This setting is useful for operators whose service area is entirely within one country and who want to prevent out-of-range bookings.

Skip Vehicle Selection

When enabled, the vehicle selection step is hidden from customers during booking. All trips created through the portal are automatically assigned to a default vehicle you choose.

Use this if you operate a single vehicle type or want to simplify the booking flow. You must have at least one vehicle added in Moovs before enabling this setting.

Vehicle Order

Control the order in which vehicles appear in your customer portal. Choose one of four sort methods:

  • By Price — ascending or descending

  • By Capacity — ascending or descending

  • By Name — ascending or descending (alphabetical)

  • Manual — drag and drop vehicles into your preferred order
