Finding duplicate customers

You can easily find and resolve duplicate customers within VGM. Here's a step-by-step guide to efficiently locate and address duplicate customers:

Begin by navigating to the Search option located in the top left corner of the interface. From the dropdown menu, select Customers to access your customers page.

Once on the customer page, click on the Duplicates button in the toolbar.

With the the dropdown box at the top of the Find Duplicates window to select the criteria for identifying duplicate customers. For instance, you can choose to search for duplicates based on email addresses, names, or other relevant identifiers. The grid below will then display a summary of customers matching the selected criteria.

Merging Duplicate Customers

Once duplicate customers have been identified, follow these steps to merge their entries seamlessly:

Within the Find Duplicates window, locate the duplicate customer entry you wish to merge. You can either double-click on the entry to open the Customer Duplicates window or single-click on the row and select the Merge button from the toolbar.

The Customer Duplicates window will present a summary of all customers included within the duplicate set. While these customers share identical data in the specified duplicate field, variations may exist in other fields.

Tick the Merge checkbox next to each customer entry you intend to merge. Ensure that you only select entries belonging to the same customer and exclude any records that pertain to different individuals. Once you have selected two or more entries for merge, click on the Merge Customers button located at the bottom of the window. This action will prompt the merging process to begin.

In the merging interface, you can customize which data to retain in the final merged customer entry. Select the desired data from the dropdown boxes or input new information as needed. Additionally, you can manage automated messaging preferences for the merged customers.

After ensuring that the selected values are accurate, click on the Save button to execute the merge. Confirm your selection by clicking Continue, and the merge will be carried out seamlessly.

By following these straightforward steps, you can effectively manage and consolidate duplicate customer entries within your database, ensuring data accuracy and optimizing customer relationship management processes.
