In this article, we will explore the process of creating and managing your VHC (Vehicle Health Check) templates directly within VGM (Vehicle Garage Management). VHC templates serve as comprehensive checklists that can be utilized within jobsheets and assigned to technicians using VGM Technician, our companion app.
Getting Started
Begin by navigating to the VHC checklist page. You can access this page by selecting Config > Vehicle Checklists > VHC Templates from the top toolbar.
Here, you'll find a list of all the checklists you've previously created. Utilize the options in the top toolbar to create new checklists, edit existing ones (double-click a template to open it), delete checklists, or clone them.
Creating a New VHC Checklist
To initiate a new checklist, click on the "New" button in the top toolbar.
A new window will appear, allowing you to enter basic information:
Name: Provide a memorable name for the template, which will be visible when adding the checklist to jobs and assigning them to technicians.
Description: Optionally, add a longer description for reference.
Estimated Hours: Specify the anticipated duration for completing the checklist.
You can save your progress at any point or proceed to the "Template Items" tab to build the checklist itself.
Adding Items to Your VHC Checklist
To structure the checklist, start by creating groups to organize common checklist items.
Once a group is created, select it and click on "Add Item." Here, you can include the following item types:
Severity: Use green, amber, and red indicators to denote pass, advisory, or immediate attention required.
Tread Depth: Record tyre tread depths.
Whole Number: Record any whole number.
Decimal Number: Record any decimal number.
When used in conjunction with our companion app, VGM Technician, these checklists will render specific inputs based on the item type to ensure accurate data recording.
Additionally, technicians can add notes for each item, and for media package subscribers, they can also include photos.
