How do MPB quotes work?

MPB’s quotes are powered by our dynamic pricing engine, Re.Value, which provides fair, real-time valuations based on current market conditions. This ensures quotes reflect factors like supply, demand, trends, and seasonality for transparent pricing.

When you enter your gear’s model and condition, MPB Re.Value instantly calculates its quote value using data from over a decade of transactions. Quotes are valid for 14 days. If you’re happy with the quote, you can generate your free insured FedEx shipping label. Clean your gear, pack it securely, and drop it off at a FedEx location. After your gear arrives and the inspection is finished, the final price is confirmed. At this stage, you can accept or have your gear returned free of charge for any reason.


Why can’t I find the item I want to sell?

Start by typing your model name. If it doesn’t appear in the dropdown menu, it may be a model we currently do not purchase in our system, or we may have it formatted a bit differently than what you've typed. Continue by clicking “I can’t find what I’m looking for” at the bottom, then re-enter the model name when prompted. Once completed, our Seller Experience team will review your submission and contact you via email. They typically respond within one working day.


What should I include in the box?

Please include all original manufacturer accessories—chargers, batteries, straps, lens caps and more—as these may be included in the value of your quote.

We only expect to receive items that have been quoted for along with the original manufacturer accessories. Please do not send any unquoted accessories. You can check our article here on what to include in your box.


What if I change my mind about selling/trading?

You can request your gear to be returned free of charge as long as you haven't settled the balance (paid or provided payment information).

If you disagree with an adjustment, please contact us before entering any payment information to discuss the details of the quote or arrange for your gear to be returned.

Please note that if you later decide to rebook the quote, the value may change, as our dynamic pricing engine updates prices frequently.


What condition should I choose?

Evaluate your gear’s cosmetic condition to the best of your ability. Our condition grades include: Like New, Excellent, Good, Well Used, and Heavily Used. Our trained Product Specialists will only make adjustments if necessary. For more details, please refer to our conditions guide.


Why was my quote adjusted?

At MPB, we aim to ensure fair pricing for all parties, including future buyers. Occasionally, we adjust final quotes to align with MPB's standards. These adjustments can result in an increase or decrease to your initial quote. Possible reasons for adjustments include changes to the item's condition, the inclusion of additional accessories, or the absence of necessary accessories. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us.


How do I cancel my quote?

If you have not booked your shipping label yet, you can simply let the quote expire on its own! If you don’t want to receive more emails, please feel free to contact us.

If you have booked your shipping label already, please contact us and we can cancel.


Are there any extra charges or fees?

MPB offers free instant quotes, with free insured shipping, complete protection and zero fees.


How do I arrange the free shipping/courier?

If you have received your quote but have not booked the courier yet, you can arrange this by following the link enclosed in your quote confirmation email and selecting 'Book Free Shipping'. Alternatively, you can also access your transaction through 'My Account’ on our platform. If you have already booked a courier with MPB and wish to re-arrange or cancel it, please get in touch with our team via the chat button on our platform.

How will I get paid?

MPB pays you directly into your checking account within days via secure direct deposit. When selling to MPB, you're dealing directly with us, ensuring a 100% secure process. After accepting your final quote following our gear evaluation, you'll be prompted to provide your banking details, including your routing number for electronic transfers/direct deposit and your account number.


When will I get paid?

Our current processing times provide an accurate estimate for when your gear will be evaluated. After the evaluation, we’ll send you a final quote to review and enter payment details.

Once you submit your payment details and receive the email with the subject, “Thanks for submitting your payment details”, we will send the funds within a business day.

You will receive an email confirmation with the subject “You've been paid!”. Most customers will receive the funds in their account within 1-2 business days.

If you have not received the funds within 1-2 business days, your bank may be taking a bit longer to process the transaction, or you may have accidentally entered incorrect payment information. If so, the payment will typically bounce back to us within 7-10 days. At that stage, we will reach out to you for the correct details to get you paid!


How do I add or remove items from my quote?

If you have not already booked your shipping label, you can login and open up your quotes. Click ‘View Quote’ on the quote you’d like to adjust, and select ‘Add or Edit items’.

If you have already booked your shipping label, you have two options. The easiest will be to start a new quote! If you do not want to start a new quote, you can feel free to contact us to make any changes.

If your gear is already on its way to us, we can make any desired changes for you as soon as it arrives and is checked-in, which we’ll confirm via email.

How does Trading In work?

At MPB, you can trade in and upgrade your gear in our one simple, safe, and circular process. Start with a free instant quote. Simply enter any model, estimate the condition, and choose any used gear to buy in exchange.

Proceed with your quote with two easy steps

1. Generate your free shipping label

2. Drop off your gear with FedEx!

Once your gear arrives, we will email you a confirmation of its receipt along with details on the next steps as we process it within our current processing times.

After inspection, we will send you an email with the final quote, where you can review any adjustments and handle the payment to have your new (to you) gear shipped out!


Are the items I’m trading for reserved for me?

Yes, once you book shipping for your gear, the items you’ve selected are reserved exclusively for you, and their listings are removed from our platform.


When will I receive my trade items?

To estimate when your trade items will arrive, add our current ‘Trading in at MPB’ processing time to our ‘Ordering from MPB’ processing time. You can find these by opening our Current Processing times. For additional details about shipping times, check our Courier FAQs.
