Why Didn’t My Post Publish at the Scheduled Time?

Scheduling posts is usually seamless, but occasionally a post may fail to publish at the expected time. Below are the most common reasons this happens and how to prevent it in the future.

1. Your Social Media Integration Needs Attention

All platforms require a valid connection to your social media account in order to publish content. If this connection is broken or expires, your post cannot be published.

Common causes of integration issues include:

  • Password changes on the social media account

  • Two-factor authentication being enabled or updated

  • Permissions not fully granted during the initial connection

  • The platform disconnecting your account automatically for security reasons

  • Expired login sessions that need reauthorization

Solution:

Go to your Integrations/Linked Accounts section and reconnect the affected account. Once reconnected, republish the missed post or reschedule it.

2. The Platform’s API Blocked or Delayed the Post

Each social network has its own rules that may result in a post being blocked or delayed:

  • Using restricted keywords or hashtags

  • Violating a network’s content or community guidelines

  • Posting during a time when the network is experiencing API outages or rate limits

Solution:

Check the platform’s status or guidelines. Adjust the content and try publishing again.

3. The Media File Didn’t Meet Platform Requirements

If your post includes media, it must follow the platform’s technical specifications.

Publishing may fail if:

  • The file size is too large

  • The format is not supported

  • The aspect ratio is outside the allowed range

  • The audio/video codec is incompatible

Solution:

Resize or reformat the image/video to match the network’s requirements, then attempt publishing again.

4. You Lost Internet Connection at the Time of Publishing

Some platforms require an active connection at the moment a scheduled post is queued for upload. If your device briefly went offline, the publishing request may not have gone through.

Solution:

Ensure a stable connection and try republishing the post manually.

5. The Post Was Missing Required Elements

A post may fail to publish if:

  • A caption or required field was left empty

  • The link preview could not be fetched

  • The selected page, profile, or group no longer exists or your access was removed

Solution:

Open the post draft, fill in missing details, confirm your access rights, and publish again.
