In nutrition, kcal (kilocalories) and cal (calories) actually mean the same thing. When you see “200 kcal” on a food label, it’s the same as “200 calories.”
Our app uses kcal to stay consistent with nutrition standards and to avoid confusion, since in scientific terms 1 kcal equals 1,000 small calories. Switching the unit to “cal” wouldn’t change the numbers. It would just make them look misleading.
That said, you can rest assured that the calorie information you see is accurate and follows the same format used on most food labels and in professional nutrition databases.
