What This Page Is For

The Condition Notes page helps you save reusable notes that describe the condition of your items. This is useful when you often list similar items and want a faster, more consistent way to apply condition remarks.

How to Create a Condition Note

Step 1: Pick Amazon Category

Field: Pick Amazon Category

This dropdown lets you choose the Amazon category the condition note belongs to.

Why this matters:

Different product categories may need different condition wording. For example, books, electronics, and media items may all require different types of notes.

What to do:

Select the category that best matches the type of item this note will be used for.

Step 2: Create Unique Sub-Category

Field: Create unique sub-category

This field lets you create a custom sub-category within the Amazon category you selected.

Why this matters:

Sub-categories help you organize your condition notes more clearly.

Example:

If your main category is Books, your sub-category could be:

  • Used – Good

  • Textbooks

  • Collectible

  • Damaged Dust Jacket

What to do:

Enter a sub-category name that helps you group similar notes together.

Step 3: Assign Comment Nickname

Field: Assign comment nickname

This field lets you create a short internal nickname for the condition note.

Why this matters:

The nickname makes it easier to recognize and select the note later.

Example:

  • “Used-Good”

  • “Heavy Wear”

  • “Missing Dust Jacket”

What to do:

Enter a short name that clearly identifies the condition note.

Step 4: Add or Edit Condition Note

Field: ADD or EDIT condition note

This text box is where you type the actual condition note that will be used when listing items.

Why this matters:

This is the text buyers may see, so it should clearly and accurately describe the item’s condition.

Example:

  • “Used copy with moderate shelf wear and a few pages with highlighting.”

  • “Cover has some wear. Pages are clean and intact.”

What to do:

Enter the full condition note you want to save.

Step 5: Link Note to Condition Grade (Optional)

Field: Link note to condition grade (optional)

This dropdown lets you connect the note to a specific condition grade.

Why this matters:

Linking a note to a condition grade helps keep your condition notes organized and may make them easier to select while listing.

Example grades:

  • Like New

  • Very Good

  • Good

  • Acceptable

What to do:

Choose a condition grade if you want this note tied to a specific item condition. You can also leave this blank if not needed.

Step 6: Save the Condition Note

Buttons:

  • Apply to Favorites

  • Cancel

Apply to Favorites

Click Apply to Favorites to save the condition note so it becomes available for future use.

Cancel

Click Cancel if you do not want to save the note.

Recommended Setup Tips

  • Use clear Amazon categories so notes stay organized

  • Create helpful sub-categories if you have many types of notes

  • Keep nicknames short and easy to recognize

  • Write condition notes in plain, accurate language

  • Link notes to condition grades when possible for better organization

Example Setup

Here is an example of how you might fill out the fields:

  • Amazon Category: Books

  • Unique Sub-Category: Used – Good

  • Comment Nickname: Used-Good

  • Condition Note: “Used copy with light shelf wear and clean pages.”

  • Link to Condition Grade: Good

This setup makes it easier to quickly reuse the same note when listing similar items.
