How to Fix the “Cannot Verify Trust – Future Certificate” QZ Tray Popup in AccelerList

This guide walks you through how to fix the “Cannot verify trust – Future Certificate” popup in AccelerList by checking your system time, restarting QZ Tray, and resetting its certificates.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Sometimes when printing labels in AccelerList, you may see a popup that says:

“AccelerList wants to connect to QZ Tray – Cannot verify trust (Future Certificate)”

This happens when your computer cannot validate the QZ Tray security certificate. The most common causes are an incorrect system clock, QZ Tray running in the background, or corrupted certificates.

Follow the steps below to fix it.

Step 1 — Check Your Computer Date & Time (Most Important)

If your computer clock is incorrect, QZ Tray certificates will fail and the popup will keep appearing.

Windows

  1. Click Start

  2. Search Date & Time Settings

  3. Turn ON:

    • Set time automatically

    • Set time zone automatically

  4. Confirm the correct time and timezone

  5. Restart your computer

Mac

  1. Click the Apple Menu

  2. Open System Settings

  3. Go to General → Date & Time

  4. Turn ON:

    • Set date and time automatically

    • Set time zone automatically

  5. Restart your Mac

After restarting:

  • Open QZ Tray

  • Open AccelerList

  • Try printing again.

If the popup still appears, continue to Step 2.

Step 2 — Fully Restart QZ Tray

Sometimes QZ Tray continues running in the background even if the window is closed.

Windows

  1. Look at the bottom-right system tray near the clock

  2. Click the ^ arrow to show hidden icons

  3. Find the QZ Tray icon

  4. Right-click → Exit

Mac

  1. Look at the top menu bar

  2. Click the QZ Tray icon

  3. Select Quit QZ Tray

Then:

  1. Wait 10 seconds

  2. Reopen QZ Tray

  3. Refresh or reopen AccelerList

  4. Try printing again.

If the popup still appears, continue to Step 3.

Step 3 — Clear QZ Tray Certificates

Old or corrupted certificates can cause the trust warning to appear repeatedly.

To reset them:

  1. Right-click the QZ Tray icon

  2. Click About

  3. Open Advanced or SSL Certificates

  4. Click:

    • Clear Certificates

    • Remove Saved Certificates

    • or Reset Certificates

  5. Close QZ Tray

  6. Reopen QZ Tray

  7. Reload AccelerList

When the popup appears again, click Allow or Trust.

Final Check

Before printing again, confirm:

✔ Computer date and time are correct
✔ QZ Tray has been restarted
✔ Certificates have been cleared
✔ Browser or AccelerList page refreshed

Now try printing again.
