Manual vs Automatic Inventory Sync: What’s the Difference?

Learn the difference between automatic and manual inventory sync in AccelerList, and when to use each to keep your Amazon inventory accurate and up to date.

Automatic Sync (Background Updates)

Automatic sync happens in the background at regular intervals without any action needed from you.

✔ What it does:

  • Updates your active inventory

  • Refreshes FBA and MF quantities

  • Syncs completed orders and changes

⏱ When it happens:

  • Based on system intervals (e.g., every few hours)

  • Timing may vary depending on Amazon’s API speed

👍 Best for:

  • Keeping your account updated during normal day-to-day operations

  • Passive syncing without manual effort

Manual Sync (On-Demand Update)

Manual sync allows you to force an immediate update whenever you need the latest data.

✔ When to use it:

  • You recently made changes in Seller Central

  • Inventory looks outdated or incorrect

  • You want to confirm items before listing or crosslisting

How to Manually Sync Your Amazon Inventory

  1. Log in to AccelerList

  2. In the left sidebar, click Inventory

  3. Click the Amazon tab (next to eBay / AbeBooks)

  4. Look for “Last synced:” near the top-right of the table

  5. Click Sync Now

  6. Wait for the sync process to complete

    • You’ll see steps like:

      • Updating your Amazon listings…

      • FBA quantities updated…

  7. Once you see:
👉 “All done! Your inventory is up to date.”

🔍 Optional: Verify Your Sync

Use the search bar (title / ASIN / SKU) to confirm that specific items are updated correctly.

Quick Summary

  • Automatic Sync = runs in the background on a schedule

  • Manual Sync = instant update when you click Sync Now

  • Use manual sync when you need real-time accuracy

💡 Tip: If something looks off, running a manual sync is the fastest way to refresh your data.
