How to Convert an FBA Item to MF (Merchant Fulfilled) on Amazon

A step-by-step guide explaining how to convert an FBA item to MF (Merchant Fulfilled) on Amazon and manage the listing correctly.

Sometimes you may want to switch an item from FBA (Fulfilled by Amazon) to MF/FBM (Merchant Fulfilled). This means instead of Amazon storing and shipping the item, you will handle fulfillment yourself.

This can be useful if:

  • Your FBA inventory is unavailable

  • You want more control over shipping

  • You no longer want to use FBA for a specific item

🧭 Step 1: Go to Manage All Inventory

  1. Log in to your Amazon Seller Central account

  2. Navigate to:
    Inventory β†’ Manage All Inventory

πŸ” Step 2: Find the FBA Listing

  • Search for the item you want to convert

  • Locate the current FBA listing

✏️ Step 3: Create a Merchant Fulfilled Offer

  • Click the dropdown arrow beside the listing

  • Select:

    • Add another condition, or

    • Sell this product

πŸ‘‰ This creates a separate offer for the same ASIN.

🚚 Step 4: Change the Fulfillment Method

During the setup process:

  • Choose:
β€‹β€œI will ship this item myself”

πŸ‘‰ This changes the listing to MF/FBM.

πŸ“¦ Step 5: Enter Quantity and Price

  • Add your available quantity

  • Set your selling price

  • Configure shipping settings if needed

πŸ’Ύ Step 6: Save the Listing

  • Click Save and Finish

Amazon will now create a merchant-fulfilled version of the listing.

⚠️ Important Notes

  • Converting to MF does not automatically remove FBA inventory

  • FBA and MF offers can exist at the same time under one ASIN

  • Make sure you manage inventory carefully to avoid overselling

πŸ’‘ Using AccelerList

If you are using AccelerList:

  • Create a new MF batch for the item

  • Use your MF SKU template if applicable

  • Verify the fulfillment type before listing

βœ… Summary

To convert an FBA item to MF:

  1. Open Manage Inventory

  2. Create a new offer

  3. Select merchant fulfillment

  4. Save the listing

This allows you to fulfill orders yourself while still selling the same product on Amazon.
