How to Convert an MF Item to FBA on Amazon

A step-by-step guide explaining how to convert a merchant-fulfilled (MF/FBM) item into an FBA listing and send inventory to Amazon fulfillment centers.

If you currently have an item listed as MF/FBM (Merchant Fulfilled) and want Amazon to handle storage and shipping instead, you can convert the listing to FBA (Fulfilled by Amazon) directly in Amazon Seller Central.

This is useful if you want:

  • Faster Prime shipping eligibility

  • Amazon to handle fulfillment and customer service

  • Less manual shipping work

🧭 Step 1: Go to Manage All Inventory

  1. Log in to Seller Central

  2. Navigate to:
    Inventory → Manage All Inventory

🔍 Step 2: Find Your MF Listing

  • Search for the MF item you want to convert

  • Locate the listing in your inventory

🔄 Step 3: Change Fulfillment Method

  • Click the dropdown arrow beside the listing

  • Select:
    “Change to Fulfilled by Amazon”

📦 Step 4: Complete the FBA Setup

Amazon will guide you through:

  • Selecting condition

  • Entering quantity

  • Preparing inventory

  • Labeling requirements

🏷️ Step 5: Create an FBA Shipment

After conversion:

  1. Add the quantity you want to send

  2. Create the shipment plan

  3. Complete:

    • Box content

    • Placement

    • Shipping steps

👉 Once completed, send your inventory to Amazon.

⚠️ Important Notes

  • Your MF listing may remain active unless you close it manually

  • FBA and MF offers can exist at the same time

  • Make sure inventory quantities are accurate to avoid overselling

💡 Using AccelerList

If using AccelerList:

  • Create an FBA batch

  • Use your FBA SKU template if applicable

  • Complete the shipment workflow before sending inventory
