Amazon Partnered Carrier Tracking vs Non-Partnered Carrier Tracking

Explains the differences between tracking FBA shipments with Amazon Partnered Carriers and carriers arranged independently by the seller.

Amazon FBA sellers can ship inventory using an Amazon Partnered Carrier or, when available, choose their own non-partnered carrier.

The way tracking information is handled can differ depending on the option selected.

Amazon Partnered Carrier Tracking

With an Amazon Partnered Carrier, the shipping service is selected as part of Amazon's shipment workflow.

Because the shipment is created through Amazon's partnered-carrier process, shipment and tracking information is more closely integrated with Seller Central.

This can make it easier to:

  • Access shipment tracking.

  • Associate tracking with the correct FBA shipment.

  • Monitor the shipment's progress toward the fulfillment center.

Non-Partnered Carrier Tracking

A non-partnered carrier is a carrier arranged outside Amazon's partnered-carrier program.

When using this option, you may be responsible for providing the applicable tracking or freight information to Amazon.

It's important to make sure the information entered is accurate. Incorrect or missing tracking information can make it more difficult to monitor the shipment through Seller Central.

Which Should You Choose?

The best option depends on factors such as:

  • Carrier availability

  • Shipment type

  • Destination

  • Shipping cost

  • Services available for your account and marketplace

When an Amazon Partnered Carrier is available and appropriate for the shipment, it can provide a more integrated shipping experience.
