Why Is My FBA Shipment Delivered but Not Yet Received?

Explains why an FBA shipment may show as delivered by the carrier before Amazon finishes receiving and processing the inventory.

You check your carrier's tracking page and see Delivered, but your FBA shipment hasn't been fully received by Amazon.

This can happen because carrier delivery and Amazon receiving are separate stages.

What Does "Delivered" Mean?

When the carrier marks a shipment as delivered, it generally means the shipment has reached the Amazon fulfillment-center location.

It does not necessarily mean that Amazon has already opened the boxes, processed the products, and added all units to your available FBA inventory.

What Happens After Delivery?

After arriving at the fulfillment center, the shipment still needs to move through Amazon's receiving process.

During this process, Amazon may:

  • Process the shipment.

  • Scan and identify inventory.

  • Verify quantities.

  • Receive units into the fulfillment network.

  • Transfer or distribute inventory when necessary.

Because these steps happen after physical delivery, there can be a period where the carrier says Delivered while the Amazon shipment still hasn't been completely received.

Should I Be Concerned?

Not necessarily.

A delay between delivery and receiving can occur, particularly during periods of high fulfillment-center volume.

Continue monitoring the shipment in Seller Central rather than relying only on the carrier's delivery status.

What If the Shipment Remains Unreceived?

If the shipment remains in the same status beyond Amazon's applicable receiving/reconciliation timeframe, check the shipment details in Seller Central for any available actions or eligibility to investigate the shipment.

If Amazon allows you to reconcile or investigate the shipment, follow the instructions provided for that specific shipment.

Don't Confuse Delivery With Available Inventory

There are several different milestones:

Carrier delivers shipment → Amazon processes shipment → Amazon receives units → Inventory becomes available

These don't necessarily happen at the same time.
