My Easy Monogram (MEM) uses an account balance (credits) system to simplify billing and keep orders processing smoothly.

Instead of charging your card for every individual order, production costs are deducted from your MEM balance β€” with options to automatically fund and charge your payment method when needed.

This system helps prevent order delays, failed payments, and manual billing steps.

πŸ“Œ To manage your billing settings, payment method, auto billing, and auto funding options, visit:
Settings β†’ Billing in your MEM app.
(See our Billing & Payments Settings article for full setup instructions.)

πŸ“Š How the MEM Balance System Works (Visual Flow)

Think of your MEM balance like a prepaid wallet for production costs.

Here’s the simple flow:

Order Submitted ↓ Production Cost Deducted from MEM Balance ↓ Is balance still above threshold? ↓ ↓ YES NO ↓ ↓ Order continues Autofunding adds funds ↓ If balance goes negative ↓ Autobilling charges card

In plain terms:

β€’ Orders use your MEM balance first
β€’ Autofunding refills before you run low (if enabled)
β€’ Autobilling covers any shortfall automatically

This keeps production moving with no manual steps.

πŸ” Automated Tools That Protect Your Orders

πŸ’° Autofunding (Proactive – Optional)

Automatically adds funds when your balance drops below a set amount.

Example:
When balance drops below $50 β†’ MEM adds $100 automatically.

Best for:
β€’ High-volume stores
β€’ Preventing low balance issues before they happen

πŸ’³ Autobilling (Recommended)

Automatically charges your saved payment method when your balance becomes negative.

Best for:
β€’ Preventing paused orders
β€’ Ensuring production continues smoothly

πŸ’‘ Most merchants enable both for the best experience.

πŸ“§ Billing Notifications

All billing activity is sent to your Billing Email, including:

β€’ Payment receipts
β€’ Autofunding charges
β€’ Autobilling charges
β€’ Low balance alerts

This keeps you informed without needing to log in constantly.

βœ… Recommended Setup (Best Practice)

For uninterrupted order processing:

βœ” Add your payment method
βœ” Enable Autobilling
βœ” (Optional) Enable Autofunding with a balance threshold

This ensures:

β€’ Orders never pause
β€’ No manual payments required
β€’ Automatic protection against low balances

❓ MEM Billing & Balance FAQ

What are MEM credits?

MEM credits represent your real dollar balance used to cover production costs β€” not reward points.

Do I have to use autofunding?

No. Autofunding is optional.
Autobilling alone will still cover negative balances.

What happens if I turn off both autofunding and autobilling?

Orders may pause if your balance runs out or a payment is required.

Can I see my current balance?

Yes β€” your balance is visible in your MEM app under billing/finance sections.

Will I still get receipts?

Yes β€” all charges are emailed to your Billing Email automatically.

Why did MEM switch to a balance system?

The balance system:

βœ” Speeds up order processing
βœ” Reduces failed payments
βœ” Improves automation for scaling stores
βœ” Keeps production flowing without interruptions
