What is a Naturopath?

A Naturopath is a healthcare practitioner who takes a holistic approach to health, focusing on natural therapies to support the body's ability to heal itself. They may provide guidance on nutrition, lifestyle changes, herbal medicine, and alternative therapies to promote overall wellness.

Are Naturopath Services Eligible Under an HSA?

Yes! Visits and services provided by a licensed Naturopath are eligible for reimbursement under a Health Spending Account (HSA). This includes consultations, assessments, and treatments offered by the practitioner. If you receive naturopathic care, ensure that your receipt includes:
✔ The name and credentials of the practitioner
✔ The date of service
✔ A breakdown of services provided
✔ Proof of payment

What is Not Eligible?

While naturopathic consultations and treatments are eligible, over-the-counter (OTC) supplements and vitamins are not. Even if a Naturopath prescribes or recommends them, these items remain ineligible for reimbursement under an HSA.
