Incomplete product data can lead to downstream issues, from inaccurate shipping calculations to poor warehouse capacity planning. The Receiving Verification for Physical Attributes feature allows you to gatekeep your inventory by ensuring that critical physical data—Dimensions, Weight, and Volume—is captured before a product is received into your warehouse.
Depending on your operational needs, you can configure Logiwa IO to simply warn mobile users about missing data or strictly prevent the receiving of any item until the missing physical attributes are entered.
This validation applies across multiple entry points, including the Mobile App, Web UI (Purchase Order Receiving and Add Inventory), Excel Imports, and the Open API.
To get started with this feature, please refer to the following guides:
For System Administrators: Learn how to set up the rules, assign user permissions, and define which pack types require verification in Configuring Receiving Verification for Physical Attributes.
For Warehouse Staff: Learn how to respond to warning prompts, enter missing data on the fly, and troubleshoot receiving errors in Handling Missing Physical Attributes During Receiving.
Important Exclusions and Limitations
Crossdocking: The Crossdock receiving workflow is not covered by this feature.
Non-Mobile Workflows: If a check fails outside of the Mobile App (e.g., Web UI or Excel Import), all affected workflows use the "Prevent" action exclusively. "Warn" action has no impact on non-mobile receiving/inventory creation workflows.
Value Validation: The system check only validates if a value is zero; it does not check if a non-zero value is plausible or catch manual typos.
