Before your warehouse staff can begin validating physical attributes during receiving, you must enable the feature within Client Settings and assign the appropriate permissions to your users.
Step 1: Configure Client Settings
The verification rules are highly customizable and must be configured on a per-client basis.
Navigate to Client Settings and open the Settings tab.
Locate the parameter titled Activate receiving verification for physical attributes.
Turn the toggle ON. This will reveal the following mandatory sub-settings:
A. Pack Type Verification Scope
This dropdown determines which pack type the system should check for missing attributes. You must select one of the following options:
Verify scanned pack type: The system will only validate the specific pack type associated with the barcode the user scanned.
Verify UOM pack type: The system will only validate the base Unit of Measure (UOM) pack type for the product.
Verify both: The system will validate both the UOM pack type and the specific scanned pack type (if they are different).
B. Select the physical attribute(s)
Select which data points are mandatory for the chosen pack types. You can select one, multiple, or all of the following checkboxes:
Dimensions (Length, Width, and Height)
Weight
Volume
Note: You must select at least one attribute to save the configuration.
C. Select the action for missing physical attribute(s)
Choose how the system should behave when it detects that required attributes are missing. These act as a radio group; you can only select one:
Warn User Only: The system will alert the mobile user that attributes are missing, but will provide a "Continue Receiving Anyway" button, allowing them to bypass data entry and proceed.
(For Web UI Receive PO, Add Inventory Excel, and API , "Warn" acts as an "Allow" and does not block transactions ).
Prevent Receiving: The system strictly blocks the receiving process. On mobile, the user is forced to either enter the missing data or cancel the receiving action. Web UI, Excel, and API transactions will fail entirely.
Receiving can be executed for such products only after successfully providing the validated physical attributes for pack types that are in the validation scope.
Physical attributes can be provided either through editing product pack type master data on Web or entering physical attributes through mobile app.
Step 2: Assign User Permissions
To allow warehouse staff to update product data directly from their mobile devices during receiving, you must grant them the correct permissions.
Navigate to your User Roles configuration.
Go to the Mobile -> Receiving -> Receiving (Mobile) hierarchy.
Enable the following permissions as needed:
Edit Product Physical Attributes: Allows general updates to product physical attributes via mobile.
Edit Product Physical Attributes during Receiving Verification: This specifically controls the "Enter Attributes" button on the Missing Attributes popup during a receiving flow.
Crucial Note: If a client is set to Prevent Receiving and a mobile user does not have the "Edit Product Physical Attributes during Receiving Verification" permission, they will hit a dead end. The system will block the receipt, and because they cannot enter the data, they will be forced to click "OK/Cancel" to exit the scan screen without receiving the item.
