When processing Kit-to-Order shipments, you can charge separately for the virtual kit (the assembly service) and each component within the kit. Logiwa IO supports billing for Kit-to-Order fulfillment, providing precise control over how kitting services and their physical components are charged.
Charge-By Options for Kit-to-Order Products
There are two dedicated Charge By options for shipments containing Kit-to-Order products, available when configuring a Billing Fee Card with Operation Type: Shipment.
Per Kit Item
Charges a fee based on the number of Kit-to-Order SKUs (parent items) shipped within the order.

Per Component

💡 Kit-to-order billing applies only to items where the product is classified as a Kit-to-Order type. Standard SKUs and Kit-to-Stock products are excluded from these calculations automatically.
Excluding Kit-to-Order Components from Standard Fee Cards
When you apply both a Per Component fee and a standard Per Product fee to the same shipment, component items would otherwise get charged twice. The "Order Contains Kit-to-Order SKU" condition prevents this.
Step-by-Step: Configure the Exclusion Condition
Navigate to 3PL Billing and open the relevant contract to find the related Fee Card.
Select the Fee Card where both the Fee By and the Charge By are set to Per Product (Shipment operation type).
In the Condition section, locate the condition labeled Order Contains Kit-to-Order SKU.
Under Apply Fee to, select one of the following:
Exclude Kit Components — The fee card will skip any items that are components of a Kit-to-Order SKU in the order
All Items — The fee card charges all items, including the Kit-to-Order components (default behavior)
Click Save.
If you select Exclude Kit Components, the billing engine will skip component-level items for Kit-to-Order SKUs when calculating this fee card.
If the order contains a mix of standard SKUs and Kit-to-Order components, standard SKUs are still charged normally.
