Logiwa streamlines warehouse operations with a self-service connection for Squarespace Commerce. This article is the complete setup, configuration, and operations guide — written from both a storefront and a warehouse perspective.
This integration is bidirectional. Logiwa downloads paid orders and your physical product catalog from Squarespace, pushes Available-to-Promise inventory (including kits and bundles) back to the storefront, and writes shipment tracking details to Squarespace when an order is fulfilled.
The four scheduled workflows that keep Squarespace and Logiwa in sync: Inbound Sales Orders (5 min), Product Catalog Sync (15 min), Outbound Inventory Push (10 min), and Tracking & Fulfillment (15 min).
Before You Begin
Connecting Squarespace to Logiwa is self-service. You generate an API key in Squarespace, then complete the connection wizard using the embedded setup link provided by the Logiwa Integration Team.
ℹ️ What you need on hand: Administrator access to the Squarespace site and the embedded Logiwa setup link. If the Authenticate tab lists Logiwa, you will also need the Logiwa API user credentials from the Integration Team. Always have the Logiwa client identifier and warehouse identifier for this connection.
⚠️ Squarespace plan requirement: Orders, Inventory, Products, and Transactions API keys are available on Squarespace Commerce Advanced. If Developer API Keys do not offer those scopes, upgrade the site plan before generating a key.
Generate a Squarespace API key
You will paste this key into the Authenticate tab during connection setup. Squarespace shows the secret only once, so copy it before you close the dialog.
Log in to your Squarespace Commerce site as an Administrator.
In the bottom-left corner of the dashboard, click the Settings gear icon.
Open Settings from the gear icon in the lower-left corner of Squarespace.
On the Settings page, under Website, select Developer Tools.
Developer Tools lives under Website in Squarespace Settings.
Select Developer API Keys.
Choose Developer API Keys — not External API Keys.
Click Generate Key.
Start a new key from the Developer API Keys screen.
Enter a key name (for example, Logiwa WMS Integration Key) and assign the permissions listed below, then click Generate Key.
Give the key a recognizable name, then apply the permission set below before generating it.
Squarespace permission | Access level | Why Logiwa needs it |
Products | Read Only | Download physical products, variants, images, and dimensions. |
Inventory | Read and Write | Read storefront stock and push ATP delta adjustments. |
Orders | Read and Write | Download pending or canceled orders and write fulfillments. |
Contacts | Read and Write | Keep customer contact details aligned with the shipment order. |
Transactions | Read Only | Read payment/transaction context for order processing. |
Copy the generated API key immediately and store it securely. This is the only time Squarespace displays the full secret.
Copy the key before you close this dialog. Squarespace will not show it again.
🔒 Keep the key somewhere safe: Treat the Squarespace API key like a password. If you lose it, you must generate a new key and reconnect. Do not email the key in plain text.
Connecting Squarespace in Logiwa
The connection wizard is an embedded link from the Logiwa Integration Team. It walks through three tabs: Overview, Customize, and Authenticate.
Start the connection
Go to Logiwa Channel Integrations and press Connect Now.
Integration Management: locate Squarespace among the available integrations.
Enter the required information.
Connect Squarespace Integration: SquareSpace Store Name, Client, Warehouse, Shipment Order Type, Product UOM, and Contact Email.
On the Overview tab, turn on the workflows you want to activate, then click Continue.
Select the features to install: Send Shipment Information, Sync Inventory, Download Orders, Download Products.
Enable the workflows this store needs. You can leave a workflow off if that store should not sync that data.
Workflow | Direction | Cadence |
Product Sync (Download Products) | Squarespace → Logiwa | Every 15 minutes |
Order Sync (Download Orders) | Squarespace → Logiwa | Every 5 minutes |
Inventory Sync | Logiwa → Squarespace | Every 10 minutes |
Order Fulfillment (Send Shipment Information) | Logiwa → Squarespace | Every 15 minutes |
Connection screen fields
On the Customize tab, fill in the fields for each workflow you enabled, then continue to Authenticate.
Client, warehouse, and alert settings are entered on the Customize tab.
Field | Description |
Customer ID in Squarespace (if needed) | Optional Squarespace customer ID used to scope order flow for a specific customer. |
Sync SKU from Squarespace | If you want to use Squarespace SKU numbers as the Logiwa SKU, enable it. |
Should Send Notification to Customer | When enabled, Squarespace emails the shopper the tracking details after Logiwa writes the fulfillment. Turn this off if you send tracking from another system. |
💡 Requested shipping option maps in Logiwa workflows: Squarespace sends the shopper's requested shipping option on each order. Bind that field in Logiwa workflows so the warehouse order receives the actual carrier and shipping option your operation uses. If no workflow match exists, the original requested option text is retained.
Authenticate Squarespace and Logiwa
The Authenticate tab lists only the applications this wizard still needs credentials for. If a Logiwa connection is already in place, the Logiwa tile is omitted — in that case you only need to enter the Squarespace API key.
⚠️ When Logiwa is not listed: If the Authenticate tab does not show a Logiwa connection, skip Logiwa credentials entirely. Paste the Squarespace API key, click Connect to Squarespace, then click Finish.
If Logiwa is listed, connect Logiwa first, then Squarespace. Any application that appears must show Connected before you finish.
On the Authenticate tab, check whether Logiwa is listed. If it is not listed, go to step
If Logiwa is listed, select the environment (Production or Sandbox) and enter the Logiwa API user credentials provided by the Integration Team. Click Connect to Logiwa.
Connect Logiwa with the API user credentials from the Integration Team, and choose Production or Sandbox. Skip this screen if Logiwa is not listed.
Choose Squarespace, paste the API key generated earlier, and click Connect to Squarespace.
Paste the Squarespace Developer API key you copied when the key was generated.
When every listed application shows Connected, click Finish to activate the background schedulers.
Finish after every application shown on this tab displays Connected. If Logiwa is not listed, connecting Squarespace is enough.
ℹ️ Note: After you grant access, the Squarespace API key is stored encrypted in the Logiwa credential vault. You do not need to re-enter it unless you rotate the key or the Squarespace connection is revoked.
💡 Sandbox testing is available: When Logiwa is listed on the Authenticate tab, you can choose Production or Sandbox. Validate the connection in Sandbox when you can, then switch to Production before go-live.
Operational Rules & Edge Cases
Review these business rules before you turn the schedulers loose on live orders. They prevent duplicate orders, inventory races, and fulfillment writebacks that Squarespace would reject.
Order codes always use the SQU- prefix
For example, if a Squarespace order number is 10024, it will be created in Logiwa as SQU-10024.
The SQU- prefix helps Logiwa identify Squarespace orders and prevents duplicate orders. If the same order is downloaded more than once, Logiwa will recognize SQU-10024 as an existing order and will not create a duplicate shipment order.
New versus modified orders are classified by created date
Each sync run compares the order's createdOn timestamp with the integration's lastRun cursor:
Condition | Result |
| New order → create shipment order |
| Modified order → update shipment order |
Requested shipping option assigns the actual carrier in Logiwa workflows
Squarespace sends the shopper's requested shipping option with each order. Connect that field to Logiwa workflows so the shipment order is assigned the actual carrier and shipping option your warehouse uses (for example, mapping "Express Shipping" to UPS Next Day). Without a matching workflow, the original requested option text is kept on the order.
💡 Why this matters: Set up these workflow mappings before you enable Order Sync, so live orders land on the correct carrier setup instead of requiring a manual change in Logiwa.
Cancellations stop once picking or packing has started
A canceled Squarespace order automatically cancels the matching unpicked/unpacked shipment order in Logiwa. If the warehouse has already entered picking or packing, Logiwa rejects the automated cancellation and emails the configured Email Receiver so operations can stop the wave manually.
Only physical products are synced
Product catalog sync ingests PHYSICAL product types only. Digital goods and service items never enter the warehouse item master.
Inventory sync uses relative deltas, not overwrite
Logiwa does not send an absolute stock figure to Squarespace. It calculates the difference between Logiwa ATP and the current Squarespace quantity, then posts an increment or decrement. Each request includes a unique 10-digit idempotency key so a retried call cannot double-adjust stock.
💡 Why this matters: Relative adjustments protect against race conditions — for example, a shopper buying the last unit on Squarespace while Logiwa is also posting a receiving adjustment. Overwrite logic would clobber the storefront sale; a delta will not.
Kit availability is limited by the scarcest component
For kits and bundles, sellable quantity is not stored as its own on-hand balance. Logiwa recalculates parent ATP from component ATP and the quantity required per kit, then pushes that figure to Squarespace.
Merged warehouse orders are de-merged before writeback
If several Squarespace orders were merged for warehouse picking, the fulfillment job splits them back to the original SQU- order codes before it calls Squarespace. Each storefront order receives its own tracking payload.
Historical fulfilled orders are never imported
Order download filters on PENDING or CANCELED. FULFILLED orders are skipped so a first-time connection does not flood the warehouse with already-shipped history. The lastRun cursor is initialized at go-live for the same reason.
Integration Flows & Field Mappings
ℹ️ Reading these tables: The left column is the source system field. The right column is where that value lands in the target system. Logic/notes describe prefixes, fallbacks, and hardcoded rules.
Four scheduled jobs run independently. A failure in one SKU or order does not stop the rest of that batch.
Each scheduler run decides which flow is in scope, processes the window since lastRun, then advances the cursor.
Sales order synchronization (Squarespace → Logiwa)
Cadence & trigger: Scheduled automation every 5 minutes, 24/7. Logiwa pulls orders whose fulfillment status is PENDING or whose status is CANCELED.
Business rules: New orders are created, modified orders are updated (see Operational Rules above), and canceled storefront orders cancel matching unpicked shipment orders in Logiwa. The requested shipping option is passed through so Logiwa workflows can assign the actual carrier and shipping option.
Source (Squarespace) | Target (Logiwa) | Logic / notes |
Order Number | Shipment Order Code (SQU-{orderNumber}) | Prefix prevents duplicates. |
Order Number | Channel Order Number | Direct mapping. |
Created On | Shipment Order Date | Converted to ISO-8601. |
Internal Notes | Note | Optional. |
Runtime: Client Identifier | Depositor Client | From the Customize tab. |
Runtime: Warehouse Identifier | Warehouse | From the Customize tab. |
Shipping Option Name | Requested Shipping Option | Passed into Logiwa workflows to assign the actual carrier and shipping option. |
Logiwa workflow mapping | Carrier Name / Shipping Option | Resolved from the requested shipping option. If no workflow matches, the requested option text is retained. |
Shipping Address | Ship-To Address | Name, street, city, uppercase 2-letter state, postal code, ISO country, email. |
Line Item SKU & Quantity | Order Details | SKU must exist in the Logiwa item master. |
Unit Price Paid | Unit Price | Decimal conversion; fallback 0.00. |
Product catalog synchronization (Squarespace → Logiwa)
Cadence & trigger: Every 15 minutes, or on demand. The first run downloads the full physical catalog; later runs only pull items modified since lastRun.
Business rules: Each variant is processed in two phases — create the product master, then upsert the product listing. Squarespace Variant IDs are stored in Product Listings so inventory adjustments can target the correct storefront variant. A failure on one SKU sends an alert and continues with the next variant.
Source (Squarespace) | Target (Logiwa) | Logic / notes |
Variant SKU | SKU | Trimmed and uppercased. Match key for all later flows. |
Product Name | Name | Direct mapping. |
Product Description | Description | HTML stripped. Fallback: "No description". |
Sale Price | Sales Price | Decimal conversion. |
Base Price | Purchase Price | Decimal conversion; fallback 0.00. |
Weight / L × W × H | UOM Pack Type dimensions | From variant shipping measurements. |
Product Image URL | Image List | Primary image link. |
Variant ID | Product Listing | Required cross-reference for inventory push. |
Runtime: Pack Type | UOM Pack Type Name | Default "Each". |
Inventory synchronization (Logiwa → Squarespace)
Cadence & trigger: Every 10 minutes. Source data is Logiwa transaction history (receiving, adjustments, transfers, picking, returns) plus the kit inventory report.
SKUs are de-duplicated and sent in batches of up to 50. Quantity is Available-to-Promise, not raw on-hand:
ATP formula: ATP = OnHand − Reserved − SafetyStock Kit ATP formula: Kit ATP = min over components of floor(Component ATP ÷ Required Qty)
Source (Logiwa) | Target (Squarespace) | Logic / notes |
Product Listing | Variant ID | Looks up the Squarespace variant stored on the listing. |
Calculated ATP | Adjustment quantity | Sent as incrementOperations or decrementOperations. |
10-digit random key | Idempotency Key | Prevents double-adjustments on retry. |
Fulfillment & tracking writeback (Logiwa → Squarespace)
Cadence & trigger: Every 15 minutes. Selects Logiwa shipment orders in status Shipped or Completed where ShipmentExported = false.
After Squarespace accepts the fulfillment, Logiwa marks the shipping line exported so the same tracking number is not posted again.
Source (Logiwa) | Target (Squarespace) | Logic / notes |
Channel Order Number | Order ID (URL path) | Identifies the Squarespace order. |
Carrier Name | Shipment Carrier Name | Translated to a Squarespace-supported carrier. Fallback: "Other". |
Carrier Service | Shipment Service | Fallback: "Standard". |
Tracking Number | Tracking Number | Trimmed. |
Ship Date | Ship Date | ISO-8601. |
Should Send Notification to Customer | Customer email flag | From the Customize tab. Default: enabled. |
Log Access & Support
Error classifications & diagnostics
Error type | Common causes | System behavior |
Connection & API failures | Invalid API key, revoked access, or Squarespace/Logiwa rejecting the call. | The job stops writing that payload. An email alert is sent to the Email Receiver. |
HTTP 409 Conflict (order exists) | The SQU- order code is already in Logiwa. | Creation is skipped. If the order is classified as modified, the update path runs instead. |
Unregistered SKU | A line item SKU is not in the Logiwa item master. | That order/SKU is skipped, the error is logged, and an HTML alert is emailed. Other records continue. |
HTTP 429 rate limit | Squarespace throttled the integration. | Exponential backoff using Retry-After when present. |
HTTP 500 / 502 / 503 | Transient platform errors. | Retried at 5, 15, and 45 minutes, then routed to the error queue. |
Individual record failures | One order, product, or inventory row fails while others succeed. | Skip & continue. Email includes the SKU or channel order number. |
Every system event captures the following diagnostic markers where applicable:
Timestamp
API endpoint
Status (Success / Failed)
HTTP status code
Error description / API response body
💡 Note on log access: Processing logs are not available in the Logiwa user interface. Details for a specific transaction can be shared on request. Open a support ticket through HubSpot for troubleshooting. This integration is also monitored by the Logiwa Integration Team.
ℹ️ When opening a support ticket, include: the Squarespace site/store name; the SQU- order code or SKU involved; the time of the error; the workflow that failed (orders, products, inventory, or fulfillment); and any error message from the notification email.
