When it comes to user management in WMS, the User Performance Report is a key asset for employee evaluation. So, the question is, how can you evaluate your employees, and which parameters indicate your employee's performance?

As we explained in the Task Details Report article, tasks are the core of your warehouse. They also help you to monitor your crew's performance. Logiwa tracks user performance based on these assigned tasks.

This report provides real-time information about users' performances, including ongoing tasks. In addition to basic information such as picked and packed order/order line/item quantity, this report also informs you about average picking and packing task execution times based on the task's start date and finish date. This allows you to easily monitor your employees' current performance using key indicators.

The article below will explain how this report is filtered, a number of the available columns, and give a general guide on how to use these indicators to evaluate employee performance.

Filtered by Period

Your report begins with the Period filter, which assists in evaluating a specific time frame and obtaining reports based on the desired period.

For example, you can check this report on a weekly or monthly basis to assist you with the one-on-one performance reviews. You can easily modify it using the Filter button.

Utilizing the Report

As you can see, this report helps you separate the warehouse tasks of picking and packing. In this way, you can compare your users based on their employee's role.

When evaluating the data in this report, you can compare all the fields among your employees. None of the fields is necessarily considered more important than others.

  • Typically, if your orders also have multiple lines, you must take into account both the Order Quantity and the Order Line Quantity when comparing your employees. Some employees may be assigned more multi-line orders compared to others, resulting in a decrease in their assigned order quantity while maintaining an acceptable level of assigned order line quantity.

  • If your business model is wholesale, you may want to take into account the Picked Item Quantity. This is because there could be bulk orders that contain only one line. If you consider this scenario, simply assessing the quantity of the order or order line is insufficient for measuring actual performance.

  • Average picking times are by far the clearest indicator among the other results. However, this does not make them a 100% accurate indicator. Let's consider an example where you have both bulk and single orders. The user who picks orders in smaller amounts is highly likely to have a longer average picking time. On the other hand, the picker who has bulk order tasks can possibly fulfill the task with just a single box or pallet movement, which significantly reduces the average picking time.

In summary, simply considering one indicator is not sufficient. For a fair evaluation, it is necessary to understand your warehouse processes and the variety of shipment orders as well. You have the choice to select which indicator or indicators accurately define the performance of your employees based on your business profile.
