Create an LP Type

How to create license plate types for your warehouse.

Defining LP types for your warehouse will help you track your products movements. If you have questions about what LP types are, you can learn more from this article.

Step-by-Step Guide

  • To begin, navigate to the LP Types screen.

    • If you have trouble finding the screen, please use the Search Option on the menu bar.

  • Click on the Add New LP Type button in the top righthand corner.

  • The Add & Edit LP Type sidebar will open onto the General section. The fields you find here are defined below.

Field

Description

Warehouse*

Select the warehouse that will use this LP type. Required field.

Code*

Unique identifier for the LP type that will appear on related screens. Must be at least three characters. Required field.

Number Length

  • Defines the maximum length of the LP that can be assigned to this LP type. (only applies to Create LP Number From Sequence option)

  • Between 1-7 numbers are allowed. (Only applies to Create LP Number From Sequence option, for Create Custom LP Number and Import LP Number options, maximum LP number length is 100 characters)

  • Required field.

Number Prefix*

  • Assign a prefix that will be present for all generated LP numbers of this LP type.

  • Between 1-8 characters are allowed. (only applies to Create LP Number From Sequence option)

  • Example: EU, US, ABC, etc.

  • Required field.

Description

Description or longer name of the LP type.

Length

Numerical length of the LP.

Width

Numerical width of the LP.

Height

Numerical height of the LP.

Dimension Unit*

Unit for the length, width, and height of the LP. If you use length, width, and height, this field is required.

Weight Unit*

Unit for the weight of the LP. If you use empty weight or max weight, this field is required.

Empty Weight

Numerical weight of the LP before it's stocked.

Max Weight

Maximum weight the LP can hold.

Volume Unit*

Unit for the volume of the LP. If you use max volume, this field is required.

Max Volume

Maximum volume the LP can hold.

  • Fill in the required fields, then click the Next button.

  • On the Parameters screen, you can choose to enable toggles that may apply to this LP type. All of these are disabled by default, and explanations for each toggle are listed below.

Field

Description

Only 1 Expiry Date

When enabled, the system will allow 1 expiry date to be stored per LP of this type.

Only 1 Production Date

When enabled, the system will allow 1 production date to be stored per LP of this type.

Only 1 Lot Batch Number

When enabled, the system will allow 1 lot batch number to be stored per LP of this type.

Only 1 SKU

When enabled, the system will allow 1 type of SKU to be stored per LP of this type.

Only 1 Client

When enabled, the system will allow 1 client's products to be stored per LP of this type.

Only 1 Order

When enabled, the system will allow 1 order to be stored per LP of this type.

Only 1 Job

When enabled, the system will allow 1 type of job to (?) per LP of this type.

Suitable for Parent LP

When enabled, this LP type can be used for parent LPs.

Use for AI Job

When enabled, this LP type can be used in AI-enhanced jobs.

  • Once you've set the toggles to your preferences, click the Next button to move to Other Info.

  • The Other Info tab allows you to add custom fields about your LP type. This section is optional.

  • From this section, you can create up to 10 custom fields. You're currently allowed 5 free text fields, 3 toggles, and 2 date pickers.

  • Click Add/Edit Custom Field to begin. The Create Custom Field menu will open.

Field

Description

Custom Field Type*

Select from a list of options to make your custom field into a text box, dropdown menu, date picker, or toggle. Required field.

Custom Field Name*

Name displayed for your custom field. Required field.

Keep it Mandatory

Enable to make this field mandatory.

Return from API

Enable to have this custom field return data from the API.

Is Active

Set to Yes by default. Toggle off to make the custom field inactive.

  • Once you've filled in the required information, click Add to Form to complete your custom field creation or click Add More Custom Fields to continue working.

  • You can now select Finish to finalize your LP type.

  • After the product is added, a confirmation notification will display at the bottom of the screen.
