In this article, we'll guide you through the process of creating wave rules for a cycle count. Cycle counts are an important tool to assure that inventory in your warehouse matches your expectations. With Logiwa, it's easy to create a cycle count that suits your needs.

  • Navigate to the Wave Rules page.

    • If you have trouble finding the screen, please use the Search Option on the menu bar.

  • Click on Create New in the upper right corner.

  • Select Cycle Count from the available Operation Types.

  • In the General section, you will set the general preferences for the count. Explanations for the fields are below.

Field

Description

Rule Set Name*

Type the name for this count. Required field.

Warehouse*

Select the warehouse for this count. Required field.

Count Type*

Select SKU-count or Location-based count from the available options. Required field.

Lock Locations

  • When enabled, all locations in this count will be locked in the system until the count is completed.

  • When disabled, the location being counted is locked until counting is completed for that location.

Select Job Types*

  • Select the Job Type(s) from the list of job types connected to the selected warehouse. You must select at least one job type to create a wave rule.

  • You may also select more than one job type for the wave rule; in that case, the wave rule will run for the first job type first, then the second.

  • Placement of job types can be changed by selecting the 3-bars icon and dragging and dropping.

  • You can learn more about creating job types from this article.

  • Required field.

  • Once you've filled in the necessary info, click Next.

  • In the Selection section, you can add criteria for your locations.

    • For example, you can select a specific aisle to count with this feature.

  • After making these selections, click Next to move to the Schedule section.

  • This section lets you select a frequency for your rule. All you need to do is select a start date and a frequency. Alternatively, you can define a custom frequency from the custom tab. The only thing you need to do is select a day and time. After that, this rule will run automatically at that time.

    • Please note that the schedule works based on the selected time zone in User Preferences.

  • For example, you can create a rule for every 2 months or you can create a rule for every 3 weeks, etc.

  • In the Assign section, you will select the assignees for this wave rule. You can assign the created jobs to specific users and specific role, or you can assign jobs directly to the job pool. This means jobs will be created without an assignee and any assignee can pick it.

  • You can finish the creating a rule by clicking on Save button.
