Wave rules are rules that can be set up that, once manually or automatically triggered, create jobs. In this article, we will guide you on how to create a wave rule for replenishment, as well as how to trigger it.
Initial Setup
First, navigate to the Wave Rule screen.
If you cannot locate the screen, please use the Search Option on the menu bar to search for "wave rules."
Click Create New on the upper right side of the screen.
Choose the Replenishment option.
General
In the General tab, fill out the Rule Set Name, Warehouse and select the previously created Job Type(s) from the available list.
Click Next to proceed to the Selection section.
If needed, add conditions for the rules to be triggered by Target Location, LP, Product, and Source Location.
You can also set the order in which jobs will be created by searching/selecting from the Order By dropdown.
Click Next to move to Schedule.
Schedule
From this section, you can schedule when this wave rule will be automatically triggered to create replenishment jobs for the necessary locations.
Select the Days you want this ruleset to run by clicking the names of the days. If you wish to deselect a day, click it once more to remove it.
Under the Time section, use Add Time to set time for the ruleset to run. The Daily Frequency section will update as you add additional times.
When finished with scheduling, click on Next to proceed to the Assign section.
Assign
Here, you can assign who this job will be assigned to.
Your available options are explained below.
Please note you can only choose one option from this section.
Add Pool
When used, any user can select and execute this job from the pool.
Assign to User Roles
When used, any user with the selected role(s) can execute created jobs. Selecting this option will load the list of roles in the selected warehouse. Just check the box next to the role(s) you wish to assign.
Assign to Users
Only the selected users can execute this job. Selecting this option will load the list of users in the selected warehouse. Just check the box next to the user(s) you wish to assign.
Final Steps
Click Save to finalize.
You can now view the wave rule you have created from the Wave Rules screen.
Apart from auto schedule, you can manually trigger the wave rule to create a job by clicking on Run button at the top right corner of the screen.
After you run the wave rule, you can view your replenishment job.
If you are done with the wave rule, start replenishing!
Troubleshooting
There may be numerous reasons why a job cannot be created. Please ensure that the criteria below are fully met:
A source location with sufficient inventory for replenishment
A target location with either a product capacity or LP capacity
A job type based on your operational requirements
A wave rule that will be triggered manually or automatically.
