SSCC18 Barcode Creation allows users to generate standardized SSCC (Serial Shipping Container Code) labels in compliance with GS1 guidelines. These labels can be created as LP Numbers from the LP Numbers screen.
UCC Label Printing enables the printing of UCC-128 compliant labels for outbound shipments. This feature allows users to print SSCC18 Labels including Shipment Order level information.
SSCC18 Barcode Creation
SSCC18 Client Setup
In order to create SSCC18 LP Numbers, GS1 Company Prefix, Serial Number and Extension Digit needs to be set to a Client first.
GS1 Company Prefix (7 to 10 digits): A globally unique number assigned to the company by GS1.
Serial Number (6 to 9 digits): A number that is unique within the company and identifies the specific logistics unit.
Total number of digits of GS1 Company Prefix and Serial Number needs to be added to 16 digits.
Extension digit (1 digit): A number from 0 to 9, used for increasing the capacity of the SSCC if needed.
Check digit (1 digit): A calculated digit that ensures the SSCC18 is correctly formed.
Check digit doesn’t take place on the Client Setup. It’s calculated and added to the end of the SSCC18 Barcode during barcode creation.
Removing SSCC18 Setup from a Client
In order to Remove SSCC18 Setup from a Client:
Serial Number and Extension Digit fields need to be cleared first.
GS1 Company Prefix needs to be cleared later and pressed Save.
If Serial Number and Extension Digit fields aren’t cleared, System will raise an Error message to guide the user.
SSCC18 LP Number Creation
Once SSCC18 Client setup is completed, Users now can create LP Numbers as SSCC18 on the LP Numbers Screen.
In order to Create SSCC18 LP Numbers, Press Create LP Number on the LP Numbers Screen.
When, Create LP Number tab is opened, Select Warehouse and LP Type, Enter quantity to LP Number Count, then set Created as SSCC18 Toggle True and select the Client and Press Save.
When Created as SSCC18 Toggle is set to True, defined Number Prefix and Length for the selected LP Type are disabled.
After Created as SSCC18 Toggle is set to True, according to the selected Client’s SSCC18 Setup , SSCC18 LP Numbers will be created.
If there is no defined SSCC18 Client Setup for the selected Client, System will raise an Error and SSCC18 LP Numbers won’t be created. In order to create SSCC18 LP Number for a Client, first define SSCC18 Client Setup.
After saving the Create LP Number tab, SSCC18 LP Numbers are created.
Serial Number of the Client is updated with the last created SSCC18 LP Number of the Client.
When SSCC18 LP Number is selected and Edit LP Number tab is opened, different from other LP Numbers, SSCC18 LP number is Read-Only and can’t be edited.
If the Serial Number of a Client is updated to an already created one and LP Number is tried to be created on the LP Numbers Screen, System won’t create the same SSCC18 as LP Number and raise an Error.
If System gives the Error and doesn't create SSSC18 LP Numbers, please check the created SSCC18 LP Numbers for the Client and update the Serial Number field of the Client.
UCC Label Printing
UCC Label Template Setup
In order to print UCC Labels for SSCC18 LP Numbers, a SSCC18 License Plate Template has been added to Printout Lists - LP Label Screen.
On the LP Label Printout Screen, Select Create Printout, on the Step 2 Tab, Select SSCC18 License Plate Template.
After selecting the template, the Report Designer screen is opened. Users can design the label template as desired on this screen.
When a UCC Label is printed, Application Identifier (00) is usually added to the SSCC18 Barcode as a prefix. Application Identifier (00) can be added to the barcode and the text of the barcode on the Report Designer.
Printing UCC Labels
After completing the UCC Label Template setup, UCC Labels can be printed from LP Numbers Screen.
In order to print the UCC Label, first scan the SSCC-18 LP Number during Picking to link the Order data with the SSCC-18 Barcode.
Then select the LP Number(s) on the LP Numbers Screen and Press Print Barcode.
Press Print Labels on the tab.
Select the UCC Label template and Press Print.
If there is only 1 defined Label Printout, Print Options tab will be skipped.
UCC Labels include information retrieved from Shipment Order. Therefore, to print UCC Labels, selected LP Numbers must have stock of an order on them, otherwise UCC Labels can’t be printed.
SSCC18 LP Numbers on Mobile Operations
SSCC18 LP Numbers functions the same as LP Numbers, therefore there is no change of usage on the Mobile Operation Screens. SSCC18 LP Numbers can be used for Picking, Receiving, Transfer, Loading etc.
Since UCC Labels include information retrieved from Shipment Order, Those Labels can be printed after Mobile Operations. Beside that, an LP Barcode including SSCC18 LP Number can be printed and used for the Mobile Operations.
SSCC18 LP Barcodes can be printed with or without Application Identifier (00). If the barcode is printed with Application Identifier (00) and when the barcode is scanned, System will check If the barcode without zeros (00) belongs to an SSCC18 LP Number. If yes, System will match the barcode with SSCC18 LP Number and proceeds.
If the barcode without zeros (00) doesn’t belong to an SSCC18 LP Number, System won’t remove zeros (00) and proceeds with the barcode itself.
Important Note : Application Identifier (00) is only used for scanning operations, It isn’t stored on the Screens. Therefore, It’s important to not create Non-SSCC18 LP Numbers the same including Application Identifier and SSCC18 LP Number on the LP Numbers - Custom Numbers tab. If that LP Number is created and SSCC18 LP Barcode is printed with Application Identifier (00), When that barcode is used on the Mobile Operations, System will always match the barcode with SSCC18 LP Number. In this case, Manually created Non-SSCC18 LP Number can’t be used for the Mobile Operations.
