A regional consolidation is a consolidated view (report) of aggregate information across the locations that are linked to that region. When setting up a region, you may choose to allow order creation at this virtual location.
Refer to What are “regional consolidations?”
Aggregating sales history, stock on hand and forecasts across multiple locations is simple. However, when an order is created at a virtual location, which supplier should be used? How does one aggregate a primary supplier across multiple locations? That’s where the primary location comes in. The supplier of the primary location will become the supplier of the region.
The following information will come from the primary location (if the item exists in the primary location and is not marked as an obsolete item):
Primary supplier
Minimum order quantity
Order multiple
Lead time days
Stocking indicator
Classification (ABC)
Velocity (HML)
Minimum stock level
When setting up a region, a location may be set to be the primary location by clicking the “star” symbol next to it.
Refer to How to set up and configure a region
A primary location will be indicated by the red line on the region setup screen.
When a Primary location for the Region is not selected, the data for each field is calculated and represented as per the below:

Selling Price | Average of the location Selling Prices, weighted by stock on hand and adjusted by the exchange rate. |
