The region setup screen is used to create a consolidated view of all the data from multiple locations so that forecasting or ordering can be done at this level instead of each individual location. A region cannot be imported into Netstock Inventory Advisor and can only be set up in the app.

There are two distinct steps to follow when creating a region.

  1. Region setup

  2. Region configuration

  3. Maintain a region (optional)

Step 1: Set up a Region

In the App, expand the Settings menu and navigate to region setup.

Click the “Add region” button

Fill in the relevant fields

Some fields are not editable after the region has been created. It is therefore important to understand the fields and their implications when setting up a region.

Click the “Create region” button once done

Click on the newly created Region

Link the appropriate locations or other regions to the region. Regions may be linked to other regions.

Unlink a location by clicking the “X” symbol

Select a Primary location by clicking the “Star” symbol

Step 2: Configure the region

You may edit the region, view the region dashboard, set classifications or view and/or adjust forecast by using the options to the right. Configuring the region requires setting the correct policies and managing the forecasts. This virtual location functions just like any real location, and as a result, needs to be configured like one.

Step 3: How to maintain a region

To edit a region, access the region from the Location screen and click the “pencil” icon.

You may edit a location’s currency, export location code and distribution center vendor code. You may also set a region to be inactive and specify whether order creation may be done at the region. Any other fields aren’t editable and changing them will require deleting and recreating the region. This, however, will remove all dashboard history of the region.

It is therefore important to understand the fields and implications of each when setting up a region.

You may delete a region or a location from a region by clicking on the minus symbol to the right of the element:

The deleted element will be deleted at the next full data refresh.
