About Automatic Recording
Automatic Recording or Streaming allows you to secure your drive recording to your phone so you can create clips even when you are not connected to your Nexar One dash cam. As soon as your Nexar app detects the dash cam over Bluetooth and WiFi, Nexar streams video directly from the Nexar One dash cam to your phone.
How to Set Up and Enable Automatic Recording for Nexar One on iOS
Set up and enable the automatic recording feature for iOS by following the instructions below:
1. Make sure your WiFi and Bluetooth permissions are turned on.
2. Go to More > Dash cam > toggle on Automatic dash cam connection.
3. Ensure that the Phone's Battery Optimization is toggled off.
4. Go to your phone’s settings, click Nexar, and enable notifications, Local network and Background app refresh permissions.
Automatic recording will not work if the Phone's battery optimization toggle is enabled. You can still recover your drives after the trip by creating a Clip.
How to Set Up and Enable Automatic Recording for Nexar One on Android
Set up and enable the automatic recording feature for Android by following the instructions below:
1. Turn on your phone’s Bluetooth, WiFi, and Location settings.
2. Go to your phone’s settings and enable Location (set to Allow all the time), Physical activity (if you have a continuous power outlet), Notifications, and Storage.
Location permission is not required for automatic recording and recording for Android OS 13. Although, please note that disabling this permission prevents the app from creating map routes for your Drives, Clips, and 1-Click Reports.
3. Open your phone’s battery settings and disable or exempt Nexar from Battery optimization, Background usage limits/restrictions, and Sleeping apps/Apps put to sleep.
4. Go to More > Dash cam > toggle on Automatically start streaming.
5. If your Nexar One is hardwired or connected to a continuous power port, enable the Continuous power outlet toggle.
