How to set up notifications for completed reference checks

Overview

Instead of proactively checking on the status of a reference request, users can now set an email notification to be sent out when a reference is completed for certain candidates at varying points in the process. These notifications can be sent out immediately, daily or on a weekly basis.

Setting up a notification

Users can set up a reference notification via the settings page. To access settings, navigate to the top right corner, click your name and select Settings from the drop down menu.

Notifications is the first section you will see on the Settings page. Click the +New Notification button on the top right to create a new notification.

Click the Notification type dropdown and select Reference completed.

Super Admin and District Admin have the ability to set the completed reference notification to go out for all candidates or only for those candidates where they've submitted a reference request.

District Users and School Admin will only receive completed reference notifications for candidates where they submitted a reference request.

Frequency

Just like other system notifications, all users can determine when they want to receive the email for the references completed notification. Notifications can be set up immediately, daily or weekly. If users set an immediate notification, they will receive the notification as soon as the corresponding action is completed within Nimble. If users set the frequency to daily digest, they will receive one email with all the notifications at the end of each work day. If users set the frequency to weekly digest, they will receive a notification on Monday mornings.

Notifications for certain references

Users have a few different options for the receiving the reference notification when it comes to the number of references requested for one candidate. Users can set notifications for a specific reference number, up to the first 3 references or for all references completed. If it's typical for your organization to have more than 3 references per candidate we recommend selecting the Any reference is completed option.

Receiving & editing notifications

Users will receive these notifications via email. These notifications will include links that direct the user to the relevant section within Nimble. If a user ever wants to make edits to their notification settings, they have the ability to do so by clicking the link at the bottom of the email.
