Instructions for our users

Setup

  1. In the Gong API Page (you must be a technical administrator in Gong), click "Create" to receive an Access Key and an Access Key Secret.

    1. Do not navigate away from this page until you have added these keys in Nooks.

  2. Go to the Settings from the Main Menu ⚙️ in Nooks.

  3. Then click on Gong in the side menubar, and add your Access Key and Access Key Secret

  4. Click Connect Gong

  5. If this succeeds, Nooks will automatically match users’ Nooks emails with their Gong accounts. You will also be able to see how many Gong users Nooks has pulled (n.b. All of them may not necessarily be mapped).

  6. If this fails, double-check your keys and let us know if we can help!

Important things to note

Call recordings

Not all calls you make in Nooks will get synced to Gong.

For example, in your Nooks settings, you can optionally turn off saving call recordings if the area code of a prospect’s phone number is matched with a two-party consent state. You can even turn off saving call recordings for the entire workspace. None of these calls will be viewable in Gong, as Gong requires a recording media URL to save calls.

Furthermore, in your Recording Settings in Gong, you may have configured a threshold for analyzing calls.

By default, it is set to 60 seconds and can be brought all the way down to 30 seconds.

Any calls shorter than this duration setting made in Nooks will not be viewable in Gong, but will still get logged normally in your CRM.

Allow telephone calls importing

To allow Nooks to sync calls with Gong, please go to Gong’s Company SettingsTeam members and make sure to enable Telephony system call importing for your team members.

You can do this by clicking on a team member’s name on the left and selecting Import calls.

⚠️ If importing calls is not enabled, Nooks cannot sync calls to Gong.
