The Pencil has pressure sensitivity and texture—perfect for sketching, shading, and writing out your ideas.
Overview
Select
in the toolbox and tap on the screen to start sketching.Click or tap on the Pencil icon again to change colors and adjust pencil size.
Select a color from the palette to view the custom colors menu.
Add up to 8 custom colors for immediate access in the toolbar.
More colors can always be accessed through the custom colors menu.
Shading and Pressure Sensitivity
Tilt your Apple Pencil sideways to shade and add dimension to your notes.
The more you tilt your stylus, the thicker the line is.
Press harder and your lines will become darker.
Please note: the Apple Pencil (USB-C) does not support pressure sensitivity.
