Code Blocks

Code Blocks format code separately from the rest of a note. Text inside a code block keeps spacing and font intact, so snippets stay easy to read.

This feature requires Notability Cloud.

There are two ways to insert a code block:

  1. Tap in the type toolbar.

  2. Use the markdown shortcut (``` and a Space).

Code Blocks support the following languages:

  1. Bash/Shell

  2. C

  3. C#

  4. C++

  5. CSS

  6. Go

  7. Haskell

  8. HTML

  9. Java

  10. JavaScript

  11. JSON

  12. Kotlin

  13. Lua

  14. Markdown

  15. MATLAB

  16. Objective-C

  17. OCaml

  18. PHP

  19. Python

  20. R, Racket

  21. Ruby

  22. Rust

  23. SQL

  24. Swift

  25. TypeScript

  26. Plain Text

The default language is Plain Text. A new language can be chosen from the drop-down or can be typed into the shortcut. The last language used is remembered, so it's applied automatically when a new code block is created.

Each code block created can have its own language.
