Understanding transfer statuses

Updated over a week ago

When you send or receive money with nsave, transfers can show different statuses. This guide explains what each status means and what you can do if something takes longer than expected.

Processing

  • We (or our payment partners) are running extra checks to ensure all necessary information is present and secure. This status may also indicate routine reviews by banking partners or financial institutions.

  • While delays are generally temporary, you will get a notification on the app if more information is needed.

In Transit

Your transfer is on its way. At this point, we don’t have much control over it. Here is the expected transit time for different payment methods:

Payment Rail

Typical Time in Transit

Notes

FPS (GBP)

A few minutes

Usually instant for UK-based GBP transfers

SWIFT (USD)

Up to 5 working days

Could be delayed by intermediary banks; worth checking with partners if late

Local currency payout

Between 1-3 working days

Same as above, may be pending on recipient bank

Tip: If your transfer is taking longer than usual, it might be stuck with intermediary banks. Contact support only if it exceeds these times.

Request Received

  • For outbound transfer, this often indicates a bug.

  • If it hasn't affected your balance, feel free to try sending it again. Otherwise, feel free to contact support.

Failed

  • This can happen due to a system error.

  • In most cases, a team member needs to check this, so feel free to contact support, or try again in a few minutes.

Successful

  • The transfer was sent successfully from our end.

Once the transfer is successful this does not always mean that it’s been received, as the receiving institution might need to process it and could delay it!

Reach out to them if that’s the case.

  • If the recipient hasn’t received it, refer to the In Transit times above, and if it exceeds normal transit times, feel free to reach out to our support team.
