What are Micro-deposits?

Understand what micro-deposits are and why you are receiving them.

What are micro-deposits?

Micro-deposits are small amounts of money (usually $1.00 or less) that a platform sends to your nsave account to verify that you own it.

They usually come from payment processors or platforms you are linking your nsave account to, such as PayPal, Amazon, Shopify, Stripe, Uber, Interactive Brokers or Google.

This is a standard security measure to confirm that:

  • You have access to the account

  • The account details you provided are correct

  • You're authorised to use this account

How long do micro-deposits take?

Micro-deposits usually arrive within 1 business day of the platform sending them.

Where do I see them in the app?

Micro-deposits appear in your USD account's Transactions with the status "In progress".

  • They are not added to your balance.

  • They will stay "In progress". This is expected: the payment is not stuck, it will not be returned, and no money is missing from your account.

  • Open the transaction to see the amount and the sender description.

We do not send a separate email or notification for micro-deposits, so please check your Transactions.

What do I need to do?

  1. Find the deposit - Look for a small "In progress" deposit in your USD Transactions.

  2. Note the amount or code - Most platforms ask for the exact amount (e.g. $0.41). Some, like Amazon, ask for a code shown in the sender description instead (e.g. AMAZON.CEK2YNIHM → the code is CEK2YNIHM).

  3. Verify your account - Go back to the platform you're linking and enter the amount or code.

  4. Complete verification - Once confirmed, your nsave account is connected and real payouts from that platform will be credited normally.

What happens to the deposits?

Micro-deposits only exist to validate your account details. They are not credited to your nsave balance. The process is designed to be cost-neutral.

Need help?

Contact our support team if:

  • the platform rejects the amount or code after you entered it exactly as shown, or

  • a payment over $1.00 is showing "In progress" for longer than the normal processing time (ACH up to 3 business days, SWIFT up to 5).
