Send from your PayPal to nsave

Linking nsave and PayPal in USD.

Updated this week

PayPal payments to nsave accounts can occasionally face delays, discrepancies, or processing errors. This guide explains how you can securely manage your PayPal and nsave accounts and addresses key limitations, such as the fact that direct incoming PayPal payments to nsave accounts are not supported. While outgoing transfers from nsave to PayPal work seamlessly, any incoming transfers will be automatically refunded. Follow these revised steps to link accounts, manage your money, and resolve potential issues.

Linking Your nsave Account to PayPal

  1. Log into Your PayPal Account

  2. Go to “Wallet”

    • On the homepage, find and click on "Wallet" (or "Banks and Cards" in the mobile app).

  3. Select “Link a Bank”

    • Click “Link a bank account” to add a new account.

  4. Enter Your nsave Bank Details

    • Use the bank details provided in your nsave app (found under your account details).

    • Bank Name: Lead Bank for USD accounts

    • Account Type: Checking

    • Routing Number (for USD accounts)

    • Account Number

    • Double-check your details and click "Agree & Link" to proceed.

  6. Verify Your Bank Account

    • PayPal may deposit two small amounts into your nsave account for verification.

    • Once received, go back to PayPal, enter these amounts, and complete the verification.

Note: These deposits can take up to a day to be received for USD accounts Important: Ensure that the name on your PayPal account exactly matches the name on your nsave account to avoid errors during linking..

Steps to Withdraw Money from PayPal to Your nsave Account

  3. Select "Transfer Money"

    • Click on "Transfer Money" and then choose "Withdraw to Your Bank".

  4. Choose Your nsave Account

    • Type the amount you want to transfer to your nsave account.

  6. Review and Confirm

    • Double-check the details and confirm the transfer.

Troubleshooting Common PayPal-nsave Connection Issues

Common Reasons for Issues

  • Name Mismatch: The name on your PayPal account must exactly match the name on your nsave account (including spelling and format). Similarly, when sending transfers, ensure the recipient account name exactly matches the nsave account to avoid reversals.

  • Automatic Reversals: Transfers involving third-party accounts or unsupported methods (e.g., linking nsave cards to PayPal) are typically reversed. For Nigerian GBP accounts, transactions must always be between accounts in your own name.

  • Compliance and Restrictions: PayPal occasionally enforces compliance checks or restrictions through their banking partners, which may block transactions or withdrawals. These blocks may not be under nsave’s control.

  • Unsupported Cards: nsave cards (like some MasterCards) cannot be linked to PayPal. Small verification charges (around $1) are normal, but deductions above this usually indicate PayPal transactions or fees.

Steps to Troubleshoot

1. Verify Your Account Details

  • Double-check that the name on your PayPal account exactly matches the name on your nsave account.

  • If discrepancies are found, correct them on either platform before attempting the transaction again.

2. Disconnect and Reconnect PayPal

  • If your account details are accurate and the issue persists, disconnect the PayPal link from nsave and reconnect to refresh the connection.

3. Handling Reversals and Refunds

  • When a transfer is reversed, the funds are returned to the originating account. Notifications for this will appear both in-app and via email, specifying the amount and source/destination of the refund.

4. Dealing with Restrictions or Blocks

  • If a withdrawal or transaction is blocked by PayPal despite exact name matching, this is likely due to their compliance measures or restrictions imposed by their banking partners.

  • Unfortunately, only PayPal can clarify or remove these blocks. Contact PayPal support for further guidance.

5. Avoid Linking nsave Cards

  • nsave cards are not supported for linking with PayPal. For payments or linking, always use your nsave bank account instead. Linking unsupported card types often results in failed transactions or deductions.

Additional Notes

  • PayPal services and restrictions may vary by region; as noted, some functionality (such as withdrawals for Nigerian GBP accounts) is not supported through PayPal.

  • If repeated issues occur despite following these steps, escalate the matter to PayPal support for investigation.
