How to Handle Packaged and Barcoded Items

The package cannot include some specific items. Know the rules before arriving on site to avoid an incomplete delivery.

Not accepted

Packaged or barcoded items are not valid, including:

  • ❌ Sealed cans or bottles

  • ❌ Wrapped snacks or pre-packaged foods

  • ❌ Any ready-to-sell product as-is

This applies to any pre-packaged item, whether a barcode is visible or not. Photos showing a price tag or barcode — including drinks or supermarket-style products — will also be rejected.

✅ Accepted: freshly prepared dishes, plated food, unpackaged items.

Exception — venues selling only packaged products

Some venues — liquor stores, convenience stores, specialist grocers — only sell pre-packaged products. If the Merchant genuinely has no unpackaged or freshly prepared items, they can be included in the package.

To avoid your session being automatically rejected:

  • Add a comment on the Project page confirming the venue has no unpackaged items

  • Frame your shots to minimise visible price tags or barcodes where possible

  • Not sure about eligibility? Note the full name and phone number of the Merchant who confirmed it — the Quality team will validate on that basis

If your Pack is missing 5 photos or more

Submit replacement photos — or provide the full name, phone number, and on-site time of the Merchant who confirmed no additional photos were possible.
