You can take Ompractice classes with almost any device that has a camera. Our classes run on Zoom, and we recommend that you have the latest version of the Zoom app on your device to keep everything running smoothly. (We do not recommend joining Zoom from a browser, as this tends to cause audio/visual issues on some devices.)

Many students take classes on laptops, tablets, or phones.

Device Compatibility:

  • Smartphones and Tablets: Ompractice typically works with most Android and Apple phones and tablets, and any computer with a camera (or external camera). We do recommend that you keep your operating system up to date with updates.

  • Computers: Ompractice works on most laptops and desktops. If you don't have a built-in camera, you'll need an external web cam, or can use a secondary device as a camera.

Browser software

  • Operating Systems: Ompractice works best on Chrome or Safari, preferably with the latest operating systems. (Occasionally folks might find a bug operating on a very old device - we're happy to make suggestions for workarounds!)

  • Zoom: We recommend that you have the latest version of your operating system updates, and your zoom updates. We do not recommend using Zoom in the browser, but rather downloading the standalone Zoom app. (You do not need to make a separate account.)

Multiple devices - and making things bigger! : you may want to take a class on a larger screen – you can sign into Ompractice classes from two devices (a large screen to watch the video, like a desktop) or SmartTV, and a secondary phone or tablet propped up to have you in camera frame. If both of your devices have audio, make sure to mute one of them, and turn the volume down on that device as well to avoid feedback.

Don't have a camera? You can still access our video library videos here, but we do require camera-on for all live classes.
