For reserved seating events we are now using the same seating chart as the patron sees.
We’ve also added quick access to changing seat status for individual performances so that it is easier to adjust accessible seating or mark a seat as blocked.
Changing Seat Attributes
Firstly, we’ve made it very easy to quickly change the attributes of a seat for a given performance. Right from the box office interface you are able to make a seat accessible, mark it as a member-only seat, and add/remove a box office hold.
Select the seat for which you would like to change attributes. At the top of the Select Ticket Type screen you will see radio buttons for the various Seat Attributes. Each attribute has a unique icon on the seating chart shown to both your patrons and other box office users.
In this example, we want to change seats A-9 and A-10 from Normal seats to wheelchair accessible seats. To do so we select the seat, choose the accessible radio button, and then click the X to close the seat without adding a ticket to the cart. Once a seat attribute is changed the seat map will refresh to reflect the change.
Selecting the I icon at the bottom right of the seating chart shows a legend of all seating attributes.
Remember: a seat marked as blocked (red) can not be sold, either through the patron interface or by another box office user. A seat with a box office hold (orange) cannot be purchased by a patron but can be purchased by another box office user. Both box office holds and blocked seats show as Unavailable status to patrons.
Purchased Seats
Once a seat has been purchased it is marked as unavailable in both the box office and the patron interface. From the box office you can select the seat and you will see information about which patron has purchased the seat.
In the example below we can see who purchased the seat, what their confirmation number is, and what type of ticket was purchased. This can be useful when a patron asks to be seated near a friend.
