Processing Sales and Checking in Patrons In Without WiFi

Updated over a week ago

Even if your Wi-Fi fails, you can still:

  • Keep ticket sales flowing by using a hotspot or smartphone data connection.

  • Serve patrons smoothly at the door, manually recording cash sales when needed.

  • Maintain accurate attendance with printed check-in lists as backup.

👟Walkthrough

In case of WiFi failure:

  1. Use a smartphone and access these features using your device’s data.

  2. Alternatively, use your smartphone to create a hotspot and connect your other devices to that hotspot.

  3. Access the Box Office Portal and Live Check In List as you normally would and proceed with front of house operations.

If you don’t have access to a smartphone:

  1. Turn off ticket sales two hours before your event to prevent new transactions from occurring online.

  2. Process any ticket sales in cash at the door. Be sure to gather the patrons’ names, email addresses, and phone numbers to enter the sales into the system once a WiFi connection has become available. The Box Office Portal will be accessible until the morning following the performance date.

  3. Print the Check In List and use that hard copy at the door to admit ticket holders.

     🎓 Recap

On The Stage’s Box Office Portal and Live Check-In features are optimized for limited connectivity. If Wi-Fi drops:

    • Use a smartphone’s cellular data or turn it into a hotspot to keep your devices connected.

    • Turn off online ticket sales two hours before showtime, then record any cash sales manually, collecting names, emails, and phone numbers to enter later.

    • Print a live check-in list in advance and use it on-site to admit guests—with data syncing once you're back online.

    🚀 Best Practices

    • Test your hotspot setup in advance, ensuring staff know how to connect devices to it.
