If an organization has more than one box office setup - i.e. a university has multiple departments selling tickets that are set up as unique organizations under their parent organization, users can sell/manage box office functions for any/all of them.
👟Walk Through
When adding users and permissions, select 'Producer' or 'Box Office Manager' and 'Create/Switch Organizations'.
If you use a Gmail address you can use the +1 option to differentiate between accounts, but you will need to ensure that you use that to log in with. Otherwise if you are a producer on a parent account, you can have the option to switch by toggling between parent account on the drop-down menu in the upper left corner.
🎓Recap: Managing Users in Parent and Child Organizations
On The Stage (OTS) supports a hierarchical structure where a parent organization can oversee multiple child organizations (e.g., departments within a university). This setup allows users to manage box office functions across various entities efficiently.
🚀Best Practices for User Management
To ensure effective management of users within the parent-child organizational structure:
Assign Appropriate Roles: Clearly define user responsibilities and assign roles that align with their duties to maintain organized access control.
Utilize 'Create/Switch Organizations' Wisely: Only grant this permission to users who require access to multiple organizations to prevent unnecessary access.
Manage Email Addresses Carefully: When using Gmail, the '+1' feature can help create distinct logins for users needing access to multiple organizations. Ensure users log in with the exact email address assigned.
Regularly Review User Access: Periodically audit user roles and permissions to ensure they remain appropriate as organizational needs evolve.
Provide Training: Educate users on how to switch between organizations and understand their permissions to maximize efficiency and reduce confusion.
🎭 Noteworthy: To add a user to the 'Create/Switch Organizations', they must be a user in the parent organization.
