Please be aware that the Comp function applies to all tickets in an order and brings the total dollar amount to zero. In other words, if your party is purchasing paid tickets along with a comp, you must process the comp separately.

  1. Select the number of tickets you wish to comp.

  2. Click the red Checkout to proceed to the next step. This will open a new screen.

  3. Select comp. Enter the patron’s name and contact information. While it is advised that you collect an email address in order to include all patrons on your mailing list, not all information is required in order to check out.

  4. Click the Comp button to process the order.

  5. Your patrons will receive an order confirmation/receipt to the provided phone number or email immediately upon processing. The patron can use their name, confirmation code, or show the text to check in at the door.

🎭 Noteworthy: Comp tickets are subject to a $0.25 fee per ticket, which will be debited against your ticket sales. This fee does not apply to Platinum Plan Customers.

🎓 Recap: This article provides a step-by-step guide on processing comp tickets through the Box Office Portal on On The Stage. It covers selecting tickets, applying discounts, choosing payment types, and completing the transaction. Comp tickets are free admission passes typically offered to individuals such as friends, family, or industry professionals associated with the cast, crew, or organization hosting an event. While the ticket itself is free, service and processing fees may still apply. For instance, On The Stage notes that comp tickets are subject to a $0.25 fee per ticket, which is deducted from ticket sales.

🚀 Best Practices:

  • Process Comp Tickets Separately:

    • Comp tickets apply to all tickets in an order, bringing the total to zero.

    • If processing both paid and comp tickets, handle the comp tickets in a separate transaction.

  • Collect Patron Information:

    • Gather the patron's name and contact details during checkout.

    • Collecting an email address is recommended for future communications.

  • Communicate Confirmation Details:

    • Ensure patrons receive an order confirmation via their provided contact information.

    • Inform patrons that they can use their name, confirmation code, or show the confirmation text to check in at the door.

  • Be Aware of Fees:

    • Comp tickets incur a $0.25 fee per ticket, deducted from ticket sales.

    • This fee does not apply to Platinum Plan customers.

  • Utilize the Box Office Portal:

    • Access the Box Office Portal through your On The Stage Dashboard.

    • Select the desired performance date and proceed with ticket processing.
