The documents required for funding for commercial solar loans are the same as those needed for residential solar loans. In some very rare cases with larger solar loans, different payment structures may be required by the bank, which would be indicated before the project is approved.
As a reminder, here are the required funding documents for both residential and commercial solar loans:
First Phase of Funding.
Invoice to Customer for the initial loan advance, signed by the customer (50% of project cost). Invoices should show the address where payments should be mailed. (Unless you have already completed the Vendor ACH payment information).
Construction Permit: Fully executed permit to complete the installation.

Second Phase of Funding - Project Completion.
Invoice to customer for outstanding loan amount due, signed by the customer (i.e., invoices should show the amount due that is net of all previous cash payments and loan disbursements received by contractor).
Proof of passed inspection from the relevant Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) that shows the customer’s name and site address.
NOTE: if the proof of passed inspection only shows a permit number (and not the customer’s name and site address), please include a copy of the original permit which shows the permit number, customer’s name, and site address.
Proof of permission to operate (PTO) from customer’s electric utility company that provides explicit permission to customer to energize their system at the site address.
We will accept the application for interconnection.
Contractor lien waiver form that has been filled out and signed by contractor for the invoiced amount.
Roof Full Funding: This will be separate from the solar 50/50 funding and needs to be processed first.
Complete permitting
Passed inspection.
Signed lien waiver release.
Signed invoice from customer for the full cost of the roof.
