LocalMessages allows you to engage with your customers through text messages, ensuring you stay connected with them on the go. You can send reminders for appointments, confirm project details, or simply answer client inquiries, all via text. This step-by-step guide will show you how to send a message to your client using the platform
How to send a new text message to your client:
1. First, log in to your OneLocal account using your credentials here
2. Once you're logged in, click on the LocalMessages tab
3. Click New Message in the top right corner of the screen.
4. If your client is already in your LocalContacts, type their first name into the search bar, and select them from the drop-down menu. If they’re not in your contacts, you’ll need to manually enter their phone number
Note: SMS text messages only; email is not supported at this time
If not, you will be prompted to create a new contact. All you need is the client’s first name and phone number!
5. Once you've selected the client, a new messaging thread will open
If you've previously communicated with this client, you will see your conversation history. If it's your first time texting them, there will be no previous messages
6. Click into the text box that says “Type your message…” and start typing your message. Keep an eye on the character count displayed below the text box, each message can be up to 160 characters. If your message exceeds this limit, it will be split into multiple texts
7. Send to send the message immediately. If you wish to archive the thread after sending, click Send and Close. Don’t worry, the thread will reopen if the client responds or you can manually reopen it at any time
8. Your message has been successfully sent! You can view your conversation history anytime by selecting the appropriate thread from the left sidebar
Easy as that!
