Submitting your XML sitemap helps Google discover and index your store’s products, collections, and pages faster.
Step 1 – Sign in to Google Search Console
Go to Google Search Console.
Choose URL prefix and enter your full store address (include
https://andwwwif you use it).Verify ownership:
Easiest method: HTML tag (paste into your store’s theme settings).
Or, if you already have Google Analytics, use the Google Analytics verification option.
Step 2 – Submit Your Sitemap
From the left-hand menu, click Sitemaps.
In the “Add a new sitemap” field, type:
sitemap.xmlClick Submit.
You’ll see the status as Pending — check back in a day or two for Success in green.
✅ Correct: https://yourstore.com/sitemap.xml
🚩 Wrong: https://yourstore.com/tools/sitemap (that’s the HTML sitemap, not XML).
Step 3 – You’re Done!
Your XML sitemap will now update automatically whenever you add or edit products. Google will crawl your site over time — usually within 3–12 weeks, though it can be longer. While you wait, keep improving your SEO for the best results.
