Wrap up the term with confidence! Use this guide in jmc Teacher to stay on top of your grading tasks and smoothly transition from one term to the next. It walks you through finalizing grades, sending them to the office, publishing results for students and families, and preparing for what’s ahead.
Wrapping up the term
Ending a term is more than submitting grades—it’s about keeping students on track, communicating progress to families, and ensuring final grades are accurate and ready to roll forward. This checklist helps you wrap up each step efficiently and with confidence.
▢ Convert missing scores to zeros
Convert all missing, late, or unscored work in the Scores gradebook to zero so your course grades are complete. You can handle this in just a few clicks on Scores > Convert Missing – Zero.
▢ Publish scores for families and students
Share up-to-date scores to give students and families a clear view of final grades before the term ends. Use File > Publish to keep everyone informed and reduce confusion.
▢ Send course grades to the office
Submit final course grades to the office from Edit > Course Grades to automatically populate report cards and update transcripts for accurate, complete reporting.
▢ Send standards-based results to the office
If your school uses standards-based reporting, finalize your standards-based results so progress toward benchmarks appears on report cards. Then, send results to the office via Edit > Edit Assessments Report Card for a Student to create official records.
▢ Switch to the upcoming term
Move your gradebook to the next term by updating the term setting on File > Preferences so you can begin creating new assignments while finishing final grades for the current term.
