Use jmc Office to record early childhood screening information, even for students not enrolled at your school. After adding the student with the New Student Wizard, open their record on the View Student Data page and enter the required information on the MARSS tab so the screening record is included in MARSS reporting.

Head to the View Student Data page and click the MARSS tab to create an early childhood screening record.

Step One: Enter the student's name in the Find field to locate their student record.

Step Two: Click the Edit button to complete the following fields:

  • Grade Level: Enter PS to mark the student's record as an early childhood screening record

  • Sp Ed Eval Stat: Enter 1 to indicate that a special education evaluation has not yet been completed

  • State Aid Category: Enter the appropriate state aid category (41–45) as required by MDE

  • Status End Code: Enter the appropriate status end code (61–66), if known, as required by MDE

💡Helpful Tip: If you’re unsure which code to enter, check the MDE MARSS Reference Guide for the full list and definitions.

Step Three: Click the Update button to save the record, or the Cancel button to discard the changes.

✅ That’s it! You’ve created the student’s early childhood screening record for accurate state reporting in jmc Office.
