How To: Enable / Disable Division Lock | Division Lock Rules

If dispatchers are not seeing any incidents within the Dispatch Center it can be the Division Restrictions feature is activated.​

  1. Navigate to Incidents > Incident Module Setup


    Alert!

    This is a Admin ONLY Privilege! Admins are NOT affected by Division Lock

  2. To turn ON/OFF Division Lock is simple.

    Find the toggle switch below the Divisions section of the Incident Module Setup (Bottom left)


    Division Lock Rules:

    • The User under a specific DIVISION will ONLY see Incidents assigned to their specific DIVISION.

      • Example: A User under the MEDICAL division should see all incidents log under the MEDICAL division.

    EXCEPTIONS TO THE ABOVE RULE:

    • The user WILL see incidents from a different (non-associated) division IF:

      • The incident (from a different division) is dispatched to that user

        • Example: An Incident logged under the SECURITY Division is Dispatched to someone from the MEDICAL Division. The Incident should be VISIBLE and EDITABLE to the MEDICAL user who's been dispatched.

      • The User logged an Incident from a different Division than theirs.

        • Example: A user under the MEDICAL Division logs an Incident with a SECURITY Division. This log will be VISIBLE (in the list) to the User who logged the Incident but will be GRAYED out, unable to be edited further by the creator.

      • If an Incident is logged without a DIVISION assigned, the Incident will be VISIBLE and EDITABLE to everyone active in the event, regardless of their assigned DIVISION.

        • Example: An Incident Dispatcher logged an Incident without a Division. The Incident should be visible and editable to all Divisions active for the event, basically to everyone active in the event.

      • If the user doesn’t have a Division assigned, they will only see and edit Incidents logged without a Division assigned.

        • Example: An Incident Dispatcher logged an incident without a Division. The user without a Division would be able to VIEW and EDIT the incident logged.

  3. Once enabled, you'll notice a blue lock appearing in three different areas within OnTrack.
