How To: Link Incidents

Linking incidents together, whether its due to duplicate entries or keeping all related incidents together there's no wrong way to do it

There are 2 ways to access the Linking Incidents window in the OnTrack Incidents System

Table View (Action Buttons) (Click to Expand)


You can click on the 'Link Incident' button in the Actions area within the Table view.


Once you've clicked on the incident you'd like to link, a popup appears with other active incidents.

Clicking on incident(s) below and clicking 'Save' will link those incidents within the Parent Incident. Once you click 'Save', a popup will give you the option of Resolving the Incident(s), or keeping it in its current status.


The 'X' button in the top right corner of the window will close the popup.

Incident Ticket (Click to Expand)


Open the Incident Ticket by clicking on the Incident Number within the Table. Once the ticket is open, click on the 'Linked Incident' button in the top-center of the window.


Clicking on incident(s) below and clicking 'Save' will link those incidents within the Parent Incident. Once you click 'Save', a popup will give you the option of Resolving the Incident(s), or keeping it in its current status.

The 'X' button in the top right corner of the window will close the popup, taking you back to the Incident Ticket


TIP!

'Link Button' within the Incident Ticket will have a numbered notification letting you know how many incidents have been linked to this incident


Within the Table View, incidents with Linked Incidents attached will include a 'Link' next to the Incident ID Number
