Incident Priority Guide

Updated over 4 months ago

Incidents are organized into four priorities: Low, Medium, High, and Critical. Labeling an Incident under any of these priorities may trigger automatic alerts within the system.

Please follow the appropriate protocols given by your company when assigning priorities.

Incident Priority Progression

While each company determines the parameters for assigning Incident Priority, OnTrack provides a priority guide with context for each priority. To view this guide, click the horizontal lines within the Active Bucket in the Dispatch Center.

Low (P4)

  • No immediate resolution is needed if there are other priorities.

  • It does not threaten anyone’s health or safety.

  • It does not threaten infrastructure use or performance.

Medium (P3)

  • No immediate resolution is needed if there are higher priorities.

  • It does not threaten anyone’s health or safety.

  • Infrastructure use or performance may be involved so long it doesn’t affect a person’s safety.

High (P2)

  • Immediate attention needed by a designated Event Manager.

  • It may threaten a person’s health or safety if not immediately addressed.

Critical (P1)

  • Immediate attention is required.

  • Someone’s health or safety is at risk in a possibly life-threatening situation.

  • Key infrastructure is at risk with the possibility of mass casualty if not immediately addressed. Designated Event Directors should be notified.
