Your OnTracx sensor runs on a 3V CR2025 lithium cell, with an average life of about 200 hours in normal conditions. The sensor sleeps when not in use, but you’ll still need to swap batteries regularly.
What you’ll need:
A new CR2025 battery
A small coin (like a penny)
Steps:
Remove the sensor from the Movesense connector.
Use the coin to open the battery cover and take out the old battery.
Check the battery contacts, O-ring, and sealing surfaces for dirt or damage. Clean gently with a dry, soft cloth. Replace the O-ring if damaged.
Ensure the O-ring is correctly seated in the groove of the battery cover.
Place the new battery positive side up into the cover, then press the sensor body onto it.
Close the cover firmly. The O-ring should no longer be visible.
ℹ️ Dispose of the old battery according to local regulations—never throw it in household trash.
⚠️ We recommend using premium brands like Maxell or Duracell. Many customers have reported issues with white-label batteries such as VARTA, so choosing high-quality batteries helps avoid problems.
